Regional Marketing Intern - Greater China
Job Description
Job Description
Regional Marketing Intern – Greater China
Civil Aerospace | Rolls-Royce
Internship Duration: 12 months
About the Role
Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace is looking for a curious, analytical and proactive Regional Marketing Intern to join our Greater China Marketing team for a 12-month internship.
Reporting directly to the Regional Marketing Director – Greater China, you will support regional marketing activities across market and customer intelligence, strategic customer campaigns, engagement planning and marketing execution.
This is a hands-on role with exposure to real business and customer topics. You will work with information from airlines, the aviation market and internal teams, help identify what matters, and translate insights into structured actions and high-quality marketing deliverables.
Rather than focusing primarily on consumer marketing, social media or event execution, this role provides an opportunity to understand how strategic B2B marketing supports major commercial decisions and customer campaigns in the aerospace industry.
What You Will Do
1. Market & Customer Intelligence
- Monitor and research developments across the Greater China aviation market, including airlines, fleet plans, aircraft and engine campaigns, competitors and relevant industry trends.
- Support analysis of customer fleets, business priorities, market developments and competitive positioning.
- Maintain and regularly update key market, fleet and customer information for priority accounts.
- Consolidate information from multiple sources and turn it into concise, structured and decision-useful insights.
- Support preparation of regular market intelligence updates and management briefings.
2. Strategic Customer Campaign Support
- Support marketing campaigns for priority airline and lessor customers across Greater China.
- Conduct customer, fleet, competitor and industry research to support campaign strategy and Account-Based Marketing activities.
- Help maintain customer profiles, stakeholder maps, campaign plans and action trackers.
- Support development of customer-specific presentations, briefing materials, value propositions and other campaign content.
- Track agreed actions and proactively coordinate follow-up with relevant internal stakeholders.
3. Customer & Executive Engagement
- Support preparation for customer workshops, executive meetings, senior visits, industry forums, airshows and other strategic engagements.
- Research relevant customer and stakeholder backgrounds and prepare concise pre-meeting briefing materials.
- Support development and consolidation of presentations and other engagement materials.
- Capture key outcomes and actions following major engagements and help ensure effective follow-up.
4. Marketing Planning & Execution
- Support the Greater China Marketing team in maintaining regional marketing plans, engagement plans and campaign trackers.
- Support KPI tracking, campaign reviews and preparation of regional and global management updates.
- Coordinate inputs and deliverables across Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Services, Communications and other functions.
- Support selected regional marketing activities and events when required.
- Help continuously improve the team’s marketing tools, databases and ways of working.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who can become a reliable and trusted member of the team over the 12-month internship, rather than simply supporting individual tasks.
You should:
- Have strong common sense and judgement, with the ability to distinguish what is important from what is simply interesting.
- Be curious about business and naturally ask why something is happening, what it means and what should happen next.
- Be comfortable working with complex or incomplete information and structuring it into a clear story.
- Have strong analytical and research skills and be comfortable working with both quantitative and qualitative information.
- Be able to communicate clearly and concisely in both Chinese and English.
- Have a strong sense of ownership and be willing to proactively follow up on actions rather than always waiting for instructions.
- Be organised, reliable and attentive to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Have strong PowerPoint skills and good working knowledge of Excel.
- Be comfortable working independently as well as collaborating across different functions and cultures.
Candidate Profile
- Currently enrolled in a postgraduate programme, ideally with approximately 12 months of availability before graduation.
- Able to commit to an internship of approximately 12 months, with stable weekly availability.
- Students studying Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Aviation, Engineering, Data Analytics or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
- Previous internship experience in consulting, strategy, market research, aviation, B2B marketing, commercial analysis or a multinational company would be an advantage.
- Previous aerospace experience is not required. The ability to learn quickly and think commercially is more important.
What You Will Gain
During the 12-month internship, you will have the opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to:
- The commercial aviation and aerospace industry in one of the world’s most important aviation markets.
- Real airline and lessor customer campaigns.
- Market, customer and competitive intelligence.
- Strategic and Account-Based Marketing in a complex B2B environment.
- Preparation for senior customer and executive engagements.
- Cross-functional collaboration with commercial, technical and service teams in Greater China and globally.
- How market information and customer insight are translated into strategy, engagement and commercial action.
You will work closely with the Regional Marketing Director and progressively take ownership of defined workstreams as your knowledge and capability develop.
Internship Commitment
This is designed as a 12-month internship, allowing sufficient time for the successful candidate to develop a strong understanding of the market, customers and business, and progressively take on greater responsibility.
Candidates who can demonstrate consistent availability and commitment throughout the internship period will be preferred.
As part of our selection process, candidates in certain locations may be asked to complete an online assessment, which can include cognitive and behavioural aptitude testing relevant to the role. If required, full instructions for the next steps will be provided.
