Leaders in entertainment, news, and enterprise, such as Jamie Oliver, Business Insider and Bloomberg, use Papercup every day to leap language barriers and engage more deeply with their international audiences. Last year alone over 350 million people watched videos translated by Papercup. Your profile

As the SVP of Commercial, you'll spearhead all commercial, sales and account management activities. You will be responsible for the success of the commercial function at Papercup as we hit a critical growth phase in the company.

We're looking for a commercial leader with demonstrable experience of taking an early stage company to Series B and beyond. You have a knack for developing a high-performing sales and account management team and can recruit high calibre talent as we grow. You are a leader who can inspire extraordinary sales performance, operate as the bridge between customer and product, and can navigate through ambiguity.

What you’ll do with us:

  • Strategise and lead a scalable, high-performing commercial function, from setting ambitious team targets to acquiring key strategic customers.
  • Represent the Commercial function on the Leadership Team, leading and reporting on strategic direction and progress against critical projects and accounts.
  • Mentor the current sales and account management teams, and expand a stellar sales team as we grow.
  • Secure key strategic customers to serve as key case studies as we break into new target markets.
  • Work hand in hand with Marketing to refine our go-to-market strategy, ensuring we double down on the most effective acquisition channels.
  • Own and optimise our revenue operations, ranging from sales process, dashboards and sales enablement material.
  • Collaborate closely with our product and delivery teams, ensuring we deliver top-tier service and evolve our product to attract new customers.
  • Represent the customer function at the highest level in the business, providing sales updates, presenting investor pitches, and fostering company-wide collaboration.

What you’ll need to thrive in this role:

  • 10+ years of B2B sales leadership experience with a proven track record of driving teams to meet and exceed targets.
  • Demonstrable experience of helping an early stage startup morph into an established company, leading a company to Series B+ revenue targets.
  • Previous experience in taking a technology product to market and scaling beyond that, owning the GTM strategy and driving clear commercial success.
  • Be comfortable in a player/ coach role where you’ll work on the largest and most strategic deals whilst managing, nurturing and hiring an exceptional sales team.
  • Ideally have had exposure to deep tech, media or localisation or helped build out a new category defining product.
  • Be happy to work in the office 2-3 days a week to build out and coach an exceptional sales team.
