Job Description

What do we do?

Paddle offers SaaS companies a completely different approach to managing payments infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payments fragmentation. It’s faster, safer, cheaper, and, above all, way better.

We’re backed by investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North and serve over 3000 software sellers in 245 territories globally.

The Role

Having a great product is only part of the journey. Software and SaaS businesses today experience a lot of frustration trying to sell their products when it comes to managing subscription plans, calculating local tax rates, handling trials, selling globally, or dealing with enterprise customers.

Paddle solves all that hassle with an integrated ecosystem of products and services that removes the friction experienced by software companies when selling their software globally. Our comprehensive suite of tools and services helps our customers expand revenue, reduce costs & reduce risk, whether they’re selling to individuals or large businesses alike. We empower efficient billing operations & handle things like tax, compliance & fraud, allowing our customers to focus on developing their product.

Billing is at the core of Paddle’s product offering, empowering software companies to grow by adopting a wide range of billing models. This team’s mission is to build a flexible and robust billing engine that enables software companies to adopt and deploy any billing model, such as a usage-based, seat-based or tiered pricing model. On top of that, this product powers things like free trial management, discounting & price localisation. This gives software companies the flexibility they need to bill their customers in a way that drives net revenue retention (NRR) and maximises revenue, positioning them best for success in an eCommerce environment that is increasingly driven by Subscriptions.

This is where you come in! We are looking for a smart and autonomous Product Manager with B2B SaaS &/or finance experience and a passion for creating great experiences to:

  • Help us realize our strategic vision of becoming the growth platform for SaaS software businesses.

  • Own the core infrastructure of our Billing platform, enabling SaaS companies to deploy a wide range of subscription billing models and capture revenue globally.

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team (with engineers and a product designer) to deliver on these improvements.

We’re aiming to nurture a world-class product team that can help us build an industry-leading organisation. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be part of something challenging and transformative, someone who will play a critical role in driving our success.

What you'll do:

  • Identify opportunities: Conduct market, competitor and customer analysis, and work with other Departments at Paddle to gain a deep understanding of opportunities that would deliver value to customers or achieve our objectives. Help build a better understanding of our customer and user personas.

  • Shape the roadmap: Own your team’s backlog, prioritization and roadmap to help achieve the business strategic objectives. But also use your product and market insights to shape the strategic direction of the product and business itself.

  • Ship value often: Work cross-functionally with engineering and design; and develop appropriate planning, prioritization, and delivery processes to enable the launch of new features and products that deliver fast value to our software sellers. Help guide effective discovery of new initiatives, run agile workshops and facilitate prioritization conversations.

  • Measurement and reporting: Analyse product performance using data, run beta tests or usability tests, and use your insights to determine when to upgrade, improve, revise, retire, or reposition products.

We'd love to hear from you if you are:

  • You’re a forward-thinking Product professional who enjoys working in cross-functional teams alongside engineers, product designers, and other functions to deliver value to users through frequent product launches.

  • You have an interest in and/or experience in financial systems - you understand the importance of financial accuracy, operations & the data that powers an efficient financial system.

  • You have a good understanding of technical concepts and can work closely with engineers to find the best solution to a problem.

  • You have a natural affinity for product design and believe in user-centred design.

  • You understand that measuring success through metrics is an important part of Product and you can draw insights from data to make sure we build the right products.

  • You have experience moving into new markets, tracking changing customer requirements, or creating product-market-fit.

  • You speak to your customers and find various ways to gather customer insights in order to build a world-class product.

  • You take an iterative, logical and methodical approach to problem-solving, while still being innovative and creative.
