About the role

With an ambitious change programme and an increasing number of business-owned SaaS applications, NFU Mutual has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Relationship Manager to lead and develop supplier relationships on our Change projects and IT suppliers.

Reporting to the Head of Sourcing and Supplier Management in Procurement, you'll lead a small team of Supplier Relationship Specialists and take accountability for the performance, governance and continuous improvement of our technology and IT supplier landscape for business-owned applications. This includes suppliers supporting systems, platforms, digital services and wider technology enabled change.

You’ll develop and embed supply chain strategies, performance frameworks and governance models that ensure our supply chain deliver strong Quality, Cost, Delivery and Sustainability (QCDS) outcomes. A key focus of the role will be managing third party risk, resilience and compliance across critical technology suppliers, ensuring alignment with internal policies, regulatory expectations and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) standards.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across IT, Digital, Legal, Operational Risk and the wider business, you’ll build strong, collaborative partnerships with suppliers to support both day-to-day service delivery and longer term technology strategy.

About you

You’ll be an experienced supplier or relationship manager with strong specialist knowledge of IT procurement and supplier management practices, including experience of the tender lifecycle, contracting trends, licensing models and traditional and emerging contract and supplier performance models.

You will bring the credibility, commercial judgement and influencing skills needed to engage senior stakeholders and manage complex supplier ecosystems, while leading and developing high performing team.

Key responsibilities

Develop, implement and oversee IT supplier management strategies to deliver robust, secure and value for money technology services

Lead, manage and develop a small team of Supplier Relationship Specialists, driving high performance and capability

Build and maintain strong relationships with IT, Legal, Operational Risk & Resilience and Business stakeholders to understand current and future technology requirements

Oversee performance management of strategic and key technology suppliers, ensuring contract value, service resilience and continuous improvement

Ensure effective governance, risk management and regulatory compliance across the IT supply chain, including support for TPRM and supplier assurance activities
