Product Manager, UK

Employment type:  Full time

3–4 days/week at home

A little flex time

Job Description

Start date: October 2023

We are Multiverse, a tech scaleup with a social mission. We’re creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training, through the power of professional apprenticeships.

We’re one of the fastest-growing businesses in Europe and rapidly expanding in North America, working with over 500 clients including Facebook, KPMG, Morgan Stanley and the NHS. In June 2022, we broke the EdTech funding record (again!) by announcing our $220m Series D, making Multiverse the UK’s first ever EdTech unicorn.

Join us on our journey to democratising access to the best careers and learning opportunities.

The Opportunity

Our engineering, design and product team is 50 strong and growing fast. We split across 3 domains: Candidate, Apprentice and Client. In each area we need Product Managers plotting a bold course to the next version of Multiverse while delivering value continuously. You’ll be working in a cross-functional squad with software engineers, a designer, and a researcher to build a product that supports people at different stages of their career, from those just starting out to those who have already built and established themselves.

No two days at Multiverse are the same, so we need someone who is comfortable with the unknown unknowns. On top of that, we want someone who will be passionate about building structure and process into our growing team in a way that doesn’t hold us back from achieving our goals.

You can read more about the Product team at Multiverse on our Notion Page.

Once here, you will:

  • Understand and interpret business objectives in order to articulate a 3-6 month product vision

  • Write epics and user stories in collaboration with design and engineering

  • Have a clear view on what we work on next - maintaining and prioritising the product backlog

  • Track releases and share development updates with the wider team

  • Collaborate with experts from across the wider business

  • Participate in team ceremonies (stand up, retrospectives)

  • Support designers and engineers to work effectively

What you bring

  • You have 2+ years experience as a Product Manager of a cross-functional team

  • You care about the outcome - not just the output

  • You’ve worked with teams who utilise Scrum or Kanban frameworks

  • You’re comfortable collaborating with UX research, design and the engineering team, ensuring involvement and communication happens at the right time

  • You’re experienced with discovery, backlog management and involvement in the research, design and engineering stages of product development

  • You’ve got strong stakeholder management skills with experience in prioritisation and setting a clear vision for the team

Benefits

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 6 additional days off: 1 life event day, 1 volunteer day and 4 company-wide wellbeing days

  • Health & wellbeing - private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, and access to Spill - all in one mental health support

  • Hybrid & remote working - weekly visits to the London office

  • You have the opportunity to share in the business’ success (depending on your level)

  • Team fun - weekly socials and regular offsite events

Our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

We’re an equal opportunities employer. And proud of it. Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. This will never change. You can read more about our commitment to DEI here.

Safeguarding

All posts in Multiverse involve some degree of responsibility for safeguarding. Successful applicants are required to complete a Disclosure Form from the Disclosure and Barring Service ("DBS") for the position. Failure to declare any convictions (that are not subject to DBS filtering) may disqualify a candidate for appointment or result in summary dismissal if the discrepancy comes to light subsequently.
