The opportunity

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Global Payroll Manager to join our People Operations team. You will work closely with our Finance team and be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, compliance with federal and state regulations, and ensuring all payroll-related transactions are recorded properly in the accounting system. You will help to create new processes and systems to ensure we are set-up for success as we scale across both the UK and the USA. The ideal candidate will not only be a payroll expert, but also be excited about being the first Payroll Manager in a fast-growing international scale-up.

Specifically, you will:

  • Manage our UK, US and International payroll processes

  • Lead on the development and implementation of payroll-related policies and procedures

  • Head-up all technical components of our compensation processes including salary reviews, commission schemes and bonus schemes

  • Operationalise our equity offering along with compliance related filing in relation to employee equity scheme

  • Maintain employee payroll records, including tax forms, wage deductions, and changes in employee status

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including tax laws and labor laws and stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and requirements

  • Coordinate with People team to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, and other employee changes

  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, such as payroll processors, benefits providers, and tax agencies

  • Ensure proper recording of payroll-related transactions in the accounting system

  • Deal with all reimbursement and expense requests

About you:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing and management

  • Ideally a background in accounting, finance, or related field

  • Previous experience of building out payroll processes from scratch

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations

  • Experience with payroll software and accounting systems

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information

Salary Information:

The base salary range for this role is $106,500-$119,000.
