Job Description
We are Multiverse, a tech scaleup with a social mission. We’re creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to college and corporate training.
In June 2022, we announced our $220m Series D raise, making Multiverse a mission-driven unicorn. This funding will help us to accelerate our growth in the US, where we’re committed to tackling the toughest challenges facing those who seek jobs - and those who provide them.
In our first year in the US, we launched over 20 apprentice cohorts at some of the best companies in America, including the likes of Verizon, Visa, Cisco and Box. Globally, we work with over 500 clients and we’ve been recognized as one of the fastest-growing businesses in Europe.
Join us on our journey to democratizing access to the best careers and learning opportunities.
The Opportunity
tl;dr: Multiverse is looking for an exceptional Director of Brand Marketing with a passion for telling stories and creating experiences that will change how the world views skill development and attainment - and to see a better pathway to growth for individuals and companies.
We’re looking for a brand leader to join the marketing team at Multiverse. This is a new role, with the opportunity to define a category and, in doing so, create family-sustaining wage opportunities for thousands of apprentices.
You’ll need to consider both sides of the marketplace (incredible people from all backgrounds to start apprenticeships, as well as the global organizations we match them with), inspiring a change in society at large for how we consider true alternatives to a broken college system.
You’ll deliver brand campaigns, brand partnerships, and take the lead in event experience, including for our user conference.
You get energy from doing career-defining work - and are excited about taking true ownership of both the strategy and execution.
About the role:
Own the overall positioning of Multiverse as an organization and its visual identity, - gathering facts, data, and insights from customers, apprentices, the market, and across the leadership team to evolve this over time
Manage a team - made up of our global social and blog channels, creative, and brand marketers
Own agency relationships - you know how to identify and build relationships with incredible agency and contractor partners
Identify people and organizations who represent the Multiverse brand - building deep relationships and partnerships, and a strategy for how we leverage these relationships
Author brand campaigns that increase brand awareness and brand sentiment toward Multiverse in the US and the UK
Invest in core brand assets that are used across the organization, from our brand book to apprentice swag
Create a flagship event strategy for Multiverse across owned and partner events - working with our B2B growth, apprentice growth, and our public relations team to bring these to life for all sides of our marketplace
Establish success metrics - you’re comfortable reporting on program performance to key stakeholders - and are ready to move the needle on awareness and favorability of both Multiverse and apprenticeships in the US and the UK
About you:
You are passionate about social and economic mobility and the goal of ensuring that all candidates have equitable access to apprenticeship opportunities
You’ve led large-scale brand initiatives, ideally at a high-growth organization - and have a track record of impact and excellence
You are a passionate manager of people
You are a proactive, effective communicator and are excited about working in a diverse, distributed team
You have experience project managing and can work collaboratively with individuals and peers in comms, marketing, and business roles
You have a positive-sum mentality - you’re equally excited about both rolling up your sleeves to get something done and reflecting on the bigger picture
You are comfortable with and motivated by high-expectations stakeholders; you can earn trust and retain it through difficult situations
You have high internal expectations for what is possible and the ability to bring others along on that journey
The base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $210,000.

What employees are saying
There is a lot of flexible working at Multiverse, especially since our work spans many time zones (US West Coast to UK); different folks work together at different times. I can plan early days when I need to connect with folks ahead of me (time zone-wise) or later on days when I'm working with US folks and doing heads-down work. I appreciate that my leaders know that I will get my work done, and if I need to go to appointments or take time mid-day, that is supported.
