Director of Candidate Experience, UK

Employment type:  Full time

4 days/week at home

Job Description

We are Multiverse, a tech scaleup with a social mission. We’re creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training, through the power of professional apprenticeships.

We’re one of the fastest-growing businesses in Europe and rapidly expanding in North America, working with over 500 clients including Facebook, KPMG, Morgan Stanley and the NHS. In June 2022, we broke the EdTech funding record (again!) by announcing our $220m Series D, making Multiverse the UK’s first ever EdTech unicorn.

Join us on our journey to democratising access to the best careers and learning opportunities.

The Opportunity

Higher education and workplace selection screen out many of the best candidates because they’re fundamentally looking at the wrong things. At Multiverse, we are building the world’s first Admissions experience to scientifically, and equitably, assess potential (not past performance) and match individuals to opportunities where we have a high degree of certainty they’ll succeed.

This is Admissions, but not as you know it.

Because we believe that it shouldn’t just be the outcome that’s life-changing, but what candidates learn about themselves along the way, we’re building a truly transformational experience that empowers candidates to take control of their careers, educates them about themselves and upskills them to realise their potential.

What we’re doing is radical. We’re not making improvements to an already broken system, we’re building something entirely new that is transforming who gets the top jobs, how they get them, and how they’re developed when they’re in them.

We’re looking for an accomplished operational lead who thinks about process, product and people; a leader who is as radical as our ambitions.

You will be responsible for driving the growth of our Admissions operation, leading a team of assessment and enablement professionals. You will devise and implement strategies to improve efficiency and impact, optimising the today whilst building for the future. Admissions sits at the heart of Multiverse, so in this truly collaborative and cross-functional role you and your team will work hand-in-hand with every team across the organisation and particularly;

  • Product and Data - to ensure our Platform realises our automation, candidate experience and operational growth priorities

  • Go To Market - to ensure we fulfil 100% of our forecast, and delight candidates and customers along the way

  • Delivery - to ensure we match the right individual to the right apprenticeship, at the right time

Required Experience

  • A proven track record of scaling an operation (people, process, product) in a fast-growth, high-expectation tech company. You’ve done it before and are excited to do it again.

  • Designed & implemented simple, scalable processes that prioritise customer & internal user experience & efficiency

  • Managed a high-performing team - with strong evidence of retention & progression

  • Implemented processes and solutions to improve efficiency of achieving performance targets, ideally including technology (e.g. ticketing system, live chat integration, CRM)

  • A strong working knowledge of product development, including experience collaborating with product teams to build innovative tech products

About you

  • Skilled relationship-builder, influencer & stakeholder manager

  • Comfortable, experienced in, and motivated by working with high-expectations stakeholders who move at pace

  • Strong people leader who can inspire, motivate and mobilise teams

  • Strategic thinker and visionary with a bias for action - not afraid to roll sleeves up when needed

  • Data-driven decision maker; uses facts and logic to make quick and accurate decisions

Benefits

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 6 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days and 4 company-wide wellbeing days

  • Health & wellbeing - private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, and access to Spill - all in one mental health support

  • Hybrid & remote working - weekly or monthly visits to the London office

  • Equity - every Multiverse employee has ownership in the business through equity options

  • Team fun - weekly socials and regular offsite events

Our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:

We’re an equal opportunities employer. And proud of it. Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. This will never change.

Safeguarding:

All posts in Multiverse involve some degree of responsibility for safeguarding. Successful applicants are required to complete a Disclosure Form from the Disclosure and Barring Service ("DBS") for the position. Failure to declare any convictions (that are not subject to DBS filtering) may disqualify a candidate for appointment or result in summary dismissal if the discrepancy comes to light subsequently.
