Employment type:  Full time

3–4 days/week at home

Job Description

We are Multiverse, a tech scaleup with a social mission. We’re creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training, through the power of professional apprenticeships.

We’re one of the fastest-growing businesses in Europe and rapidly expanding in North America, working with over 500 clients including Facebook, KPMG, Morgan Stanley and the NHS. In June 2022, we broke the EdTech funding record (again!) by announcing our $220m Series D, making Multiverse the UK’s first ever EdTech unicorn.

Join us on our journey to democratising access to the best careers and learning opportunities.

The opportunity

You will help define how the world approaches education and careers.

As a coach in the Advanced Data Fellowship team, you will inspire and support apprentices on their degree apprenticeship, learning advanced data analysis and technology skills. You will help them in developing durable and transferable skills, taking on project management, business and data analytics, agile delivery, and driving various aspects at different lifecycle stages of a digital transformation project.

This incredibly exciting opportunity is delivered over 3 years with a recognised BSc degree qualification, during which you will be supporting apprentices through one to one and small group coaching sessions. Apprentices will be working towards their Level 6 BSc Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Qualification, which is, for the first time, awarded by Multiverse!

You will hold a pivotal role in helping us achieve our social mission by building a business which can match non-graduate talent with apprenticeship opportunities at some of the UK's most exciting companies.

Specifically, as a coach, you will:

  • underpin the apprentice journey through the degree apprenticeship, being a constant for apprentices, supporting both success on programme and professional development

  • hold individual and group coaching sessions to focus on apprenticeship success for up to 30 apprentices

  • deliver workshops to groups of up to 20 apprentices covering certain Advanced Data Fellowship modules including:

    - Preparing for Digital Transformation

    - Leading Digital Transformation

  • run progress reviews with an apprentice and their apprentice managers to ensure alignment between key parties

  • act as a ‘supervisor’ for apprentices’ Synoptic Project

  • mark assignments and provide formative feedback throughout the apprenticeship

  • coordinate with the Tech Leads and CSMs to support clients on the ADF programme

  • use apprentice data to inform and coordinate with wider teams and committees, including Advanced Programmes, Learning Design and the Teaching & Learning Committee

  • coordinate with ADF instructors to align on apprentice development and progress

  • undertake regular specialised Higher Education CPD to own your own development of the degree apprenticeship experience

  • gain Fellowship status with Advance HE with support from your Programme Lead and Advanced Programmes Team

About the team

Our Advanced Programme Team has a diverse mix of industry experience from both the public and private sector. Our coaches have been Project Managers, Business Analysts, Consultants, and Change Managers, as well as teachers, coaches, mentors and trainers. Holistically, the team possesses a blend of facilitation excellence and industry expertise, ensuring apprentices benefit from learning how to apply theoretical concepts into practical application.

You will be coming into a forward-thinking, supportive and driven team, working together to make an impact for our apprentices and their organisations!

About you

  • An interest in higher education and changing the sector via the Multiverse method of applied learning.

  • An understanding of the rigour and standards required to complete an academic degree.

  • Knowledge of or experience in some of the modules on the programme.

  • Passion for developing yourself

  • You love thinking through the details of how to deliver an effective learning experience and impact at scale.

  • Experience developing others through coaching, training and mentoring, within small group settings or 1:1s.

  • Experience managing and developing strong stakeholder relationships - as a coach, part of your role will be working closely with the learners and apprentice managers.

  • Experience working in an ‘agile’ environment and managing 'digital' change projects would be beneficial, to allow you to talk from experience in the delivery of the programme.

  • You are an A-player coach: you can provide guidance, support and encouragement harnessing your experience to support people to kick start or deepen their career in business analysis, project management, and/or change management.

  • You thrive in a culture where feedback drives growth.

  • Able to demonstrate consistent evidence of high impact from your previous roles.

What you’ll receive:

  • Personalised support and funding to receive your Fellowship of HE Academy (internationally recognised HE teaching qualification)

  • Advanced Programmes specific CPD and structured development time factored into your workload

  • Continuous observation, professional and personal development from your Programme Lead

  • An opportunity to learn and develop new skills, in a fast-paced team environment

Train through the Academic Development Pathway

We are big on continuous development and believe in setting you up for success here at Multiverse. As such we have an opportunity for you to enrol onto our Academic Development Pathway. This hybrid course comprises workshops, observations and exercises to develop your understanding of the fundamentals of higher education teaching. The focal point of the ADP is centred on developing HE skills and subject knowledge in the Advanced Data Fellowship curriculum. Along with all of this, we’ll help you develop an application for Fellowship of AdvanceHE, the industry standard qualification for teaching in Higher Education.

Throughout the first 6 months of your role, you will engage in the ADP through online workshops and asynchronous materials, observing and working with existing members of the ADF team and the Advanced Programmes team. The first 3 months will prepare you for your role, ensuring you are familiar with the policies, process and content to take on your first delivery. The next 3 months will provide you with ‘on the job’ support as you take on your first group of apprentices.

Your training will include:

  • Shadowing our existing degree apprenticeship coaches to see how they facilitate group delivery sessions and coach one-to-one and in small groups.

  • Learning core skills that will make you successful in the role e.g. using data to support apprentice progress, managing your time and building relationships.

  • Putting your skills into practice so you can deliver confidently and credibly to apprentices.

Benefits

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 7 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days and 4 company-wide wellbeing days

  • Health & wellbeing - private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, and access to Spill - all in one mental health support

  • Hybrid & remote working - monthly visits to the London office

  • Flexibility - 4 day or 80% contracts will be considered for this role

  • Equity - every Multiverse employee has ownership in the business through equity options

  • Team fun - weekly socials and regular offsite events
