Job Description:
This is an excellent role in which you will lead a multidisciplinary design team within GDS (Global Delivery Services) to deliver various projects such as water and wastewater treatment works (non-infrastructure) design and pipeline (infrastructure) design for UK water utility companies. You will be
• working closely with management and design teams in the UK for the delivery of design and build projects, and you would provide leadership to build integrated delivery teams and technical expertise.
• expected to combine managerial leadership and technical responsibilities, promote a collaborative approach & inspire the team to deliver projects to quality, budget, and timescales.
• providing inspiring leadership to our people to drive technical excellence and digital innovation in project delivery and support them to realise their potential.
• driving a culture of excellence in health and safety, demonstrating applied knowledge & skills to ensure design achieve SHEQ responsibilities and in accordance with CDM Principal Designer duties.
• having a carbon management mindset in your design approach.
• undertaking post project reviews to identify and communicate lessons learnt and best practices and ensure that they are applied by the team for future project delivery.
• ensuring the design team are working to the company procedures (i.e. Engineering, CAD, and QA procedures).

Candidate Specification:
• Bachelor/Masters of Engineering degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical discipline.
• Minimum 12 years, preferably 15 + years’ experience in engineering design on UK projects, in roles of increasing responsibility and project complexity.
• Having a strong track record of delivery of UK treatment and/or UK pipeline design projects.
• To have achieved/ working towards Chartered Professional status from a UK Engineering Council recognized institute.
• Have demonstrable experience of project team leadership in UK water industry projects, and possess a sound technical background, and good acumen for offshore project delivery.
• Have experience of leading large multi-disciplinary teams within the utilities or infrastructure environment, and capable of fulfilling multi-disciplinary technical review and assurance roles.
• Have experience in delivering projects in a design & build and client-side environment from feasibility and concept stage through detailed design delivery.
• Experienced in leading continuous improvement in ‘Safety by Design’ and CDM compliance.
• Have a proactive approach mindset, and able to adapt to changing scenarios.
• Experienced in preparation of fee proposals and bid submissions.
• Be able to think strategically.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Have a strong understanding of commercial management and project delivery.
