We are currently seeking a Technical Director – Geotechnical for our Hong Kong office.

In this role, you will provide strategic technical leadership and critical inputs to large-scale local and international projects. You will apply your expertise in geotechnical design and consultancy services from feasibility through detailed design and construction support for major infrastructure projects in Hong Kong and across Asia.

You will lead and mentor the Hong Kong geotechnical team, while collaborating closely with global colleagues to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions. Expect to work on a diverse range of projects including MRT stations and tunnels, major building foundations and basements, bridge foundations, coastal developments, reclamation works, offshore wind, and hydropower projects.

  • Experience: 15+ years of proven track record in delivering geotechnical leadership and subject matter expertise on major infrastructure projects.

  • Qualification: Degree holder in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related disciplines. A Master’s degree or above will be an advantage

  • Memership: Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers or equivalent in Civil or Geotechnical discipline, Qualification of Registered Professional Engineer (Geotechnical) (RPE(G)) or approaching qualification is an advantage

Specific Responsibilities

  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to the Hong Kong geotechnical team and supporting regional growth.

  • Leading geotechnical inputs for major projects including tunnels, deep excavations, foundations, and slope stability works.

  • Driving innovation through advanced geotechnical modelling and numerical analysis (e.g., PLAXIS, FLAC, 3D modelling) and supporting our digital strategy.

  • Producing, checking, and reviewing technical documentation including reports, calculations, specifications, and tender documents.

  • Supporting business development through proposal writing, client engagement, and thought leadership.

  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and appreciating the roles of other professionals to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of Hong Kong and international standards and applying best practices in technical delivery.

  • Working with market leads to identify opportunities to grow the geotechnical business across Hong Kong and the wider Asia region.
