We are seeking a Technical Advisor to lead day‑to‑day workstreams and support the delivery of multiple concurrent assignments across the West Coast. This role is ideal for a technically grounded consultant who enjoys turning complex technical topics into clear choices for clients. Typical background would in the built environment with owner-side project, design, and construction management experience. California experience is beneficial but not essential.

You will join an award‑winning TA team within Strategy & Transformation to deepen client engagement, deliver high‑quality advisory outputs, contribute to proposals, and mentor junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and run multi-disciplinary design reviews; ensure deliverables are complete, coordinated, and compliant with requirements.
  • Develop and manage clear, testable technical requirements and information deliverables across disciplines.
  • Support development of feasibility studies and business cases to help clients assess technical, financial, and operational options.
  • Build and maintain schedules, risk registers, and interface logs; produce evidence-based reports to support client decisions.
  • Support construction-phase activities (submittals, RFIs, change control) while maintaining the golden thread of technical intent.
  • Apply a safety-in-design mindset and capture buildability and residual risk considerations.
  • Assist in preparing technical sections of RFI, RFQ, and RFP documentation aligned to alternative procurement models (DB, CMGC, PDB).
  • Communicate complex issues succinctly and facilitate client workshops and decision gates.
  • Business development: Support proposal preparation. Identify new opportunities through ongoing client interaction. Contribute to bid strategy discussions and marketing materials. Represent the TA service line at client and industry events.
  • Mentor junior staff, share best practice, and strengthen delivery discipline across the team.

Candidate Specification:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Approximately 6+ years across buildings and infrastructure projects with blended CM, design coordination, and owner‑side PM experience.
  • Strong analytical and lateral-thinking skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for decision-making.
  • Competent in scheduling (MS Project), CDE/BIM coordination, and structured risk/change control.
  • Familiarity with Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), and Design-Bid-Build (DBB) delivery models, and knowledge of alternative procurement methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Professional credentials in progress or achieved, such as: CCM, PMP, DBIA, PE, RA.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360 / ACC.

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
