Technical Skills

  • Lead process design activities across Concept, FEED, Basic and Detailed Engineering stages.
  • Provide technical direction for process simulations, equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, heat‑material balance development, and mass‑energy integration.
  • Own preparation and review of key documents:
    • PFDs, P&IDs, Process Datasheets
    • Heat & Material Balances (HMB)
    • Control philosophies & operating manuals
    • Cause & Effect diagrams
    • Design Basis and Process Specifications
  • Perform sizing and rating for distillation columns, heat exchangers, reactors, pumps, compressors, vapor–liquid separators, vessels, tanks, safety calculations and utility systems.
  • Develop relief load calculations and overpressure protection per API/ASME/OISD guidelines.
  • Conduct hydraulic studies, line sizing, pump NPSH checks, etc.
  • Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Evaluate process safety aspects (HAZID, HAZOP participation).
  • Conduct plant debottlenecking assessments, troubleshooting studies, energy optimization, and reliability improvement assignments.
  • Provide technology selection support, feasibility studies, and due‑diligence reviews.
  • Guide clients on best practices for operability, maintainability, and process safety.
  • Work with multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical teams
  • Develop and maintain internal standards, templates, engineering tools, and training materials.
  • Proficiency in process simulators: Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Aspen EDR.
  • In‑depth understanding of heat exchangers, reactors, columns, pumps, compressors, mixers, and utility systems.
  • Knowledge of international standards: API, ASME, NFPA, OISD, IEC, ISO,BIS etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting background with hands‑on site exposure is an added advantage.
