Working together as a global team we plan, design, deliver and maintain the transport, energy, water, buildings, and wider infrastructure that is integral to people’s daily lives. We value excellence in every dimension of our business and continuously seek opportunities to improve what we do and how we do it.

We employ brilliant people who combine their diverse skills and experiences to achieve brilliant things. Whether you want to specialise or broaden your experience, you'll be supported by global specialists eager to share their expertise. With numerous opportunities to learn and grow, the possibilities are as diverse as our people. Working as a connected global team, we deliver impactful projects that shape the future.

Your Opportunity

Due to continued growth in the South Australian water market, our Water team is seeking a Senior Water Engineer to support SA Water projects. Based in our Adelaide office, you will play a key role in the planning, design and delivery of water, wastewater, network and treatment infrastructure across the region.

As a Senior Water Engineer, you will lead and coordinate civil design inputs for water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, drainage systems and related network assets. You will apply sound technical judgement, guide less experienced engineers and work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, constructible and sustainable solutions that meet programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.

Depending on your specific expertise, your responsibilities will include various aspects of:

  • Civil design leadership: Lead and review design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical deliverables for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Water infrastructure delivery: Lead design development across pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, drainage systems and network assets through multiple project stages.
  • Technical assurance: Undertake design reviews, quality checks and verification activities while applying safety in design, constructability and risk management principles.
  • Project and design coordination: Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, manage technical interfaces and support delivery against agreed scope, programme and budget.
  • Client and team contribution: Communicate technical solutions clearly, contribute to proposals and client discussions, and mentor junior engineers to strengthen team capability.

About you

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, drainage systems or network assets.
  • Strong civil design capability, including calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, design reviews and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Ability to apply sound technical judgement, manage design risks and resolve civil, geotechnical and constructability interfaces.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian standards, client requirements, design maturity, safety in design and quality assurance processes.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions, collaborate with clients and delivery partners, and support the development of junior team members; chartership or progress towards professional accreditation is desirable.
