Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management, and development consultancy. We are a leading consultancy within Singapore and due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Buildings team in Singapore.

You’ll be part of a dynamic and progressive team who is looking to continue to work on some of the most iconic, interesting, and innovative projects ensuring they have a long lasting positive social impact.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to support local and international projects and will work closely with our multidisciplinary engineers and consultants across our network. You’ll be supporting a growing number of projects and liaising directly with teams across our diverse markets.

The Opportunity

  • Design of mechanical systems including air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, fire protection services and sanitary systems in building services.
  • Contribute and/or lead the delivery of projects in the building services space, and ensuring technical deliverables are on-time and within budget.
  • Play an active role contributing to technical excellence in our Mechanical Practice.
  • Opportunity to develop further as a leader and as a subject matter specialist.
  • Utilise working in the building information modelling space to undertake engineering calculations and design. E.g. automation and computation design.
  • Think and work globally in partnership with regional and international teams across MM.
  • Be an advocate of sustainable and smart buildings design.

In addition, you will get the opportunity to participate in business development activities, and financial management. Mott MacDonald is actively pushing the boundaries in our digital solutions, and part of the role will be to ensure that we continue to integrate digital solutions into the way we deliver our work.

Key requirements (certain qualifications, accreditations, software experience etc)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering/building services industry in a consulting firm essential. Candidates with more years of experience may be considered for a more senior-level position within the team.
  • Working towards professional or chartered engineering status.
  • Understanding of local regulatory and building code requirements.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic with a growth mindset.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex issues and concepts clearly, succinctly and with influence.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • A strong digital solutions drive with an interest and enthusiasm for sustainability.
  • Commercially astute with good client facing acumen who is open to new ideas and innovation.
