Your Opportunity

Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, our Energy team has an exciting opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Queensland. You will be joining a driven, agile and growing team with a strong portfolio of energy and infrastructure projects across Queensland, Australia and globally.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide electrical engineering development and design solutions across a range of multidisciplinary projects and pursuits. You will contribute to high-quality, innovative solutions that support our clients across the energy industry and help advance social, environmental and climate-positive outcomes.

You will be part of a high-performing team delivering electrical engineering solutions across energy, transport and infrastructure projects. Our work spans renewable energy, transmission and distribution networks, substations, traction power systems, rail infrastructure, water, defence and major industrial developments.

Working alongside local and global specialists, you will contribute to the planning, design and delivery of medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure from feasibility through to commissioning. This role provides exposure to a diverse range of projects and clients, allowing you to further develop your technical expertise while helping shape the energy transition and future transport networks.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work within a team of high-performing electrical engineers to deliver electrical engineering solutions across medium and high voltage power systems, substations, transmission and distribution networks, renewable energy and transport infrastructure projects.

  • Lead or undertake concept, feasibility, detailed design and commissioning support activities for electrical infrastructure projects, with opportunities to work on increasingly complex scopes as your career develops.

  • Develop designs and technical documentation for electrical plant and equipment including substations, switchgear, transformers, power distribution systems, traction power systems, protection and control systems, earthing and lightning protection systems.

  • Provide technical leadership and engineering input across multidisciplinary projects including renewable generation, batteries, grid connections, transmission, distribution and transport electrification projects.

  • Support the pursuit, development and delivery of present and future transmission, distribution and balance of plant projects.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design interfaces across civil, structural, mechanical, rail, communications and digital engineering teams.

  • Contribute to testing, commissioning, factory acceptance testing and energisation activities where required.

  • Manage engineering packages, design reviews, technical risk assessments and stakeholder coordination activities.

  • Foster and evolve client relationships through high-quality engineering outcomes, clear communication and trusted technical advice.

  • Support pursuits, proposals and work-winning activities across energy and infrastructure markets.

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, helping build team capability and consistency in delivery.

  • Apply innovative and digital engineering approaches to improve project outcomes, safety, sustainability and value.

About You

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and RPEQ registration, or eligibility to obtain it, will be highly regarded for this Queensland-based role.

  • You bring strong post-graduate experience in electrical engineering, ideally with consulting experience and experience in one or more of the following areas: transmission networks, distribution networks, substations, renewable energy projects, battery energy storage systems, grid connections, rail and traction power systems, industrial power systems, water and wastewater infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of electrical power system design including protection systems, switchgear, transformers, earthing and bonding, power quality, electrical safety and network integration.

  • Experience delivering projects through concept design, detailed design, construction support and commissioning phases.

  • Familiarity with Australian standards, utility requirements, National Electricity Market considerations and relevant electrical engineering design practices.

  • You are confident working in client-facing roles and can provide robust advice, communicate project status, identify risks and support design decisions clearly and professionally.

  • You have experience supporting design and construct infrastructure projects, including live projects with critical interfaces and multiple work packages.

  • Strong technical report writing, design management and stakeholder engagement skills are favourable. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute positively to project delivery and team development..

  • A passion for technical excellence, innovation and developing practical engineering solutions for clients.
