Key responsibilities/Duties:

The duties of the Safety Inspector shall include but not be limited to the following tasks:

  • Conduct and / or Participate in COMPANY safety audits for CONTRACTOR and Sub CONTRACTOR
  • Carry on risk assessment as directed by COMPANY Senior HSE Engineer.
  • Review the contract documents for each Construction Package in respect of Safety requirements and procedures and advise the Project Manager of any deficiency.
  • Review and comment to the Project Manager, on SITE safety organizations and key personnel CV's as submitted by the CONTRACTORS.
  • Review Safety Procedures as submitted by the CONTRACTORS and ensure implementation is in compliance with CONTRACT requirements.
  • Review Inspection, Test, Plans as submitted by the CONTRACTORS and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Ensure all activities on site are in compliance with safety procedures in respect of the format signed off by CONTRACTOR'S Safety Officer.
  • Ensure CONTRACTOR'S safety staff are adequate on site and report to the Project Manager in case of shortfall.
  • Review CONTRACTOR'S safety records, documents to ensure major construction equipment is maintained regularly.
  • Ensure CONTRACTORS safety training for SITE labourers is regularly maintained.
  • Ensure CONTRACTORS labourers on SITE are following safety procedures and report to Project Manager in case of deficiency.
  • Closely monitor site activities, on a daily basis, issuing non-compliance and submit reports to the Project Manager.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and monthly executive meetings.
  • Coordinating with COMPANY Senior HSE Engineer to ensure that HSE policy is implemented by Contractors.
  • Participate with PMC staff in reviewing and assessing of Close Out Report as submitted by CONTRACTOR.
  • Carryout accident/incident investigation as directed by COMPANY Senior HSE Engineer and prepare the Report accordingly
  • Ensure company internal safety procedures including STEP requirements
  • Ensure legal safety compliance on project as per local requirements through all involved parties and report if any deviation
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and records to be maintained
  • Assure safety compliance on project with support of project team in line with our contractual Safety liabilities and responsibilities.

Candidate Specifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering; additional qualifications in Health and Safety (NEBOSH)
  • Significant rail construction projects experience.
  • Proven experience in managing all HSE matters on large construction sites
  • Experience within a consultancy environment is preferred
  • Experience of working on a metro stations would be advantageous
  • Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects.
