Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Principal Drainage Engineer to join our Civil and Highways team in Adelaide. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure projects across South Australia, while helping to shape and grow our drainage capability for future opportunities.

As a technical leader, you will apply your expertise in stormwater and drainage design across a diverse portfolio of highways, building civil and Defence projects. You will work closely with clients and project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

In this role you will:

• Undertake stormwater design tasks on a range of highways, building civil and Defence projects.

• Manage delivery throughout the project lifecycle, taking accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality and client outcomes.

• Provide technical design guidance, manage scope and deliverables, review processes within a range of civil projects

• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to key clients including the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and Adelaide Airport.

• Collaborate proactively with project managers, design teams and clients to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

• Drive a strong safety culture by leading and facilitating Safety in Design processes and ensuring safety considerations are embedded throughout the design process.

• Mentor and support the development of engineers and designers within the team.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings a strong technical capability coupled with leadership potential and a passion for delivering exceptional infrastructure outcomes.

You’ll ideally have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

• CPEng or demonstrated progress and commitment to obtain CPEng.

• Knowledge of local and best practice stormwater and drainage standards preferable.

• Experience working in Design teams delivering concept, tender, and detailed design documentation for transport and civil projects.

• Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to influence

• An in-depth understanding of various software packages including 12D, DRAINS, etc is preferable, but not essential

• Recent application of current Austroads guidelines on major projects is preferred.

• Baseline clearance would be advantageous
