Job Function

The Senior Specialist NASA Information Security Lead provides senior regional support to the Regional Information Security Manager by helping shape, coordinate and deliver a consistent, business-aligned security capability across the company. It translates groupwide standards into tangible regional actions, aligning programs, behaviors and delivery practices with organizational expectations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support regional implementation of the Group information security strategy by translating enterprise priorities into practical plans, behaviors, and delivery outcomes.

  • Embed security into project delivery, digital development, and third‑party engagement to ensure security considerations are addressed from the outset with clients, partners, and suppliers.

  • Build strong relationships with regional leadership, project teams, and key clients, providing pragmatic, risk‑based guidance aligned with groupwide standards.

  • Support the Regional Information Security Manager in coordinating delivery of the regional security program, collaborating with Group Cyber Security Managers and peer regional colleagues to ensure enterprise‑wide consistency.

  • Provide regional insight to help shape and refine Group security policies, standards, and capabilities to ensure they remain practical, effective, and business‑aligned.

  • Strengthen regional security culture through targeted awareness, engagement, and coaching that embed secure ways of working as standard practice.

  • Support regional compliance with security policies and control frameworks by identifying, prioritizing, and tracking gaps through appropriate risk management and remediation processes.

  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and reporting regional security risks, providing accurate and timely input for Group governance and oversight.

  • Coordinate regional assurance activities—including risk assessments, reviews, and audits—to improve control effectiveness and maturity.

  • Act as a regional contact for information and cyber security matters, supporting responses to incidents, emerging risks, audit outcomes, and related issues.

  • Deliver clear, actionable communications and reporting that support transparency, accountability, and effective oversight at regional and Group levels.

  • Collaborate with other regions to share lessons learned, promote consistency, and strengthen the global security posture.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as may be required.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or cybersecurity or related field.

  • 10 years proven experience in information security management with a strong understanding of system security plans (SSPs), network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS), and computer networking fundamentals.

  • Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53 & 800-171, ISO 27001/27002 standards, FISMA compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrated capability in assessing control effectiveness, identifying gaps, and driving proportionate remediation and continuous improvement activity.

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CompTIA Security+

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

The expected salary for this position is $135000 - $169000.
