Mott MacDonald Bentley is a design and build business combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley; operating across water, energy and environment sectors throughout the UK.

You will work on projects that have been secured on a long-term framework with South West Water, delivering schemes across the region as part of the water non-infrastructure programme.

As part of an established and collaborative team, you will work alongside other early career professionals where you will learn from a broad team of experienced and early career professionals, while understanding what makes us different and our values and culture. It’s also a great chance to get involved with live projects while gaining experience relevant to your degree, having exposure to the Mott MacDonald global network and to network with people from other frameworks around the business.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in a project or a small portfolio of water projects of various sizes from outline design through to completion.

You will be predominantly based in our shared offices with our client in Exeter, and you will be involved in live projects with the support of a large multidisciplinary design team. The role will provide you with opportunities to train, grow and progress in a direction that suits your own particular skillset and interests.

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete site visits and analyse data to accurately establish and record the current control philosophy and process performance.
  • Develop basis of design, process options calculations and reports for review and acceptance by key project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and analyse key process options, for review and agreement with the client and key project stakeholders ensuring risks and gaps are mitigated.
  • Liaise with the supply chain to ensure the latest technologies are assessed and understood as part of the optioneering process.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with commissioning and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond.
  • Engage with the appropriate Mott MacDonald Practices and develop relationships with the wider Mott MacDonald Group to enhance our performance.

  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail, and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing

We aim to give you the experience and technical knowledge you need to progress your career.
From the moment you join us, you’ll receive the training you need. We’ll also support you on your journey to gaining chartered status with your chosen institution.

Our core benefits include:

  • Group bonus scheme based on company performance
  • Pension matched up to 7%
