Job Description

We want to give our people the best possible opportunity to develop their career and talents with Moneysupermarket Group.

Before applying for a vacancy please ensure you have let your Manager know, as they will receive a notification about your application.

Our mission is to help households save money. Through MoneySuperMarket, MoneySavingExpert, Quidco and B2B partnerships we supply products to more than 24 million unique monthly visitors, helping UK households to save billions of pounds a year. You can tell this is something we’re exceptionally proud of!

However, our market is highly competitive, and our customers deserve even more, so we’re constantly improving our platform, products and ways of working. Our products are built by highly collaborative teams of product managers, designers, developers, QAs, data scientists and DevOps engineers. For 2023 we’ve made exciting changes to our Product Engineering model, to take things to the next level – strengthening the relationship between Product & Technology, unlocking and empowering our engineers to focus on what matters most, creating a more dynamic and inclusive culture and an increased focus on high performance and attracting the best talent in the industry.

Engineering Managers are responsible for the engine of delivery at Moneysupermarket. You ensure teams and engineers are impactful, aligned in their direction and building communication and trust. You champion forward-thinking decision making and help teams take ownership of customer outcomes from project to product. You’ll help us to continually improve and drive more ways for our customers to save money.

What we're looking for:

  • You've been a software engineer and you know the challenges and blockers that teams face every day.
  • You’re experienced working with - and have a passion for - mentoring teams and enabling them to become high performing.
  • You love helping engineers to grow and develop, learn better ways of doing things and improve their skills and have proven experience of doing so.
  • You’re an expert agile software development practitioner, both development practices (e.g. TDD, CI/CD) and approaches to delivery.
  • You value building long lasting relationships, can quickly establish trust, inspire individuals and communicate optimally.
  • You care about diversity and inclusion and creating an inclusive culture which nurtures diversity of thought.
  • You have a growth mindset, love learning how you can get better and fostering this attitude in others.

Why choose us?

Our benefits include up to 30 days holiday, a bonus, enhanced parental leave, and tools that empower our supportive culture. You can find a full list here.

We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform crucial job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.

We're an inclusive, anti-racist and equal opportunity employer that values diversity. This means we respect and embrace differences in gender identity, race, ethnic origin, sexual expression and orientation, religion and faith, age, marital status, disability, neurodiversity, social background, education, and way of thinking. We’re a place where you can be you.

Our customers and users come from different backgrounds, as do our colleagues. We encourage applications from everyone, and particularly encourage women and Black, Asian, and ethnic minority candidates to apply as we’re actively building representation that’s more closely reflective of the communities we serve. Our appointments are made on merit, following a robust and objective assessment process, and the candidate with the highest score is offered the role. If you’re passionate about our purpose of helping households save money and excited about what you could accomplish here, we’d love to hear from you.

We understand that job adverts only say so much and you’re likely to have a lot of questions. If you’d like to know anything before applying such as more on the location, salary, our parental leave policy etc, please just let us know, and we’ll be happy to help. You can contact the recruiter for this role, Tom at tom.wood@moneysupermarket.com.
