Job Description

Job Description

Are You Ready to Make It Happen at Mondelēz International?

Join our Mission to Lead the Future of Snacking. Make It Matter.

In Mondelez Digital Services (MDS), you will connect and empower every aspect of our global organization through excellence in process, data, technology, and services. This includes investing in growth-enabling solutions as well as systems that drive our product-centric operating model from strategy through delivery to value realization. You will help Mondelēz International implement the right business capabilities, powered by governance excellence and operational discipline, to serve the needs of our Customers and Consumers.

More about this role

The Position:

The Product Stream Operations Manager (PSOM) is a governance, orchestration, and enablement function that operates at the intersection of business strategy and technology execution within the Product Oriented Enterprise Transformation model. Operating at the MDS Marketing, Sales and eCommerce Product Stream level, the PSOM ensures the stream operates with maximum clarity, alignment, and value delivery through governance excellence, financial transparency, and cross-functional orchestration.

This is not a delivery manager role. The PSOM does not own product roadmaps or make investment decisions unilaterally. Instead, the PSOM creates the conditions in which delivery teams can perform at their best — by running governance forums, maintaining financial visibility, and resolving cross-team friction that would otherwise slow delivery. Three identity pillars define the role: Navigator (reading the terrain across the product stream), Orchestrator (coordinating demand intake, council agendas, dependencies, and financial tracking), and Governance Backbone (ensuring the right conversations happen with the right people to produce the right decisions).

The PSOM is the operational right hand of the Product Stream Lead, co-chairs the Product and Platform Councils, leads the Scrum of Scrums, and acts as the financial steward of the product stream managing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) visibility, investment allocation tracking, and performance reporting across all product groups and platforms within the stream.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operating rhythm of the product stream — ensuring reviews, planning sessions, and governance meetings run to schedule and are substantively productive.
  • Aggregate and structure incoming demand from business stakeholders; apply triage and prioritisation criteria prior to council review.
  • Collate and cross-check roadmaps across all Product Groups to identify overlaps, sequencing gaps, and cross-team dependencies; maintain an integrated stream roadmap view.
  • Co-chair the Product Council and Platform Council — setting agendas, facilitating structured discussion, ensuring all items reach a clear decision or action owner, and distributing minutes and decision logs within 48 hours.
  • Enable Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reporting at stream, product group, product, and platform levels; track actuals vs. forecast and surface significant variances with recommended corrective actions.
  • Support the Product Stream Lead in preparing the annual investment submission, including capacity assumptions, TCO projections, and value realisation cases.
  • Compile and present stream-level performance data at governance forums and for leadership reporting packs, including demand fulfilment rate, backlog health, delivery velocity, and OKR progress.
  • Engage effectively with senior business stakeholders — including the Product Stream Lead, Platform Line Lead, Product Group Managers, and the OCIDO Portfolio & Investments Manager to ensure alignment, transparency, and timely decision-making.

Candidate Profile:

We seek a structured, operationally disciplined, and financially fluent governance leader with a strong track record of running cross-functional operating rhythms in complex, matrixed, multi-national environments. The successful candidate will be deeply familiar with product-centric operating models, agile delivery frameworks, and portfolio governance — and will be comfortable operating at the intersection of business strategy and technology execution without direct ownership of product delivery.

S/he will be experienced in facilitating senior governance forums, managing demand intake and prioritization processes, tracking Total Cost of Ownership, and enabling cross-team orchestration across product and platform teams. The ideal candidate combines the rigour of a programme manager with the influence of a trusted advisor and the commercial awareness of a financial steward.

Knowledge, Experience and Education:

You will bring a desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:

  • Experience: 8+ years in IT, digital, or technology operations roles, with at least 3 years in a governance, portfolio operations, or product operations capacity managing cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder environments, preferably within the consumer goods industry.
  • Product Operating Model Expertise: Deep understanding of product-centric operating models (vs. project-based delivery), including product stream governance, demand management, backlog health, and value realisation. Familiarity with frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or equivalent scaled agile approaches.
  • Financial & Portfolio Governance: Proven experience with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modelling, investment allocation tracking, actuals-vs-forecast reporting, and annual planning cycles. Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Governance & Facilitation: Demonstrated ability to design, facilitate, and run senior governance forums (product councils, platform councils, portfolio boards) with structured agendas, clear decision logs, and rigorous follow-through on action items.
  • Tools Proficiency: Proficiency with portfolio and product management tools (e.g. Jira Align, ServiceNow or equivalent), financial tracking tools, and reporting/dashboarding platforms.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Technology Management, Computer Science, or related field. Certifications in Agile (SAFe, Scrum), Product Management, or Portfolio Management are a plus.

Requirements:

  • Governance Architect: Designs and sustains governance structures that create clarity, accountability, and momentum — ensuring the right conversations happen with the right people at the right cadence.
  • Dot-Connector: Sees patterns, dependencies, and misalignments across the product stream that others miss; proactively surfaces risks and orchestrates resolution before they become blockers.
  • Influential Communicator: Translates complex operational, financial, and technical information into clear, concise narratives for senior stakeholders, with high emotional intelligence and a talent for building trust.
  • Resilient Orchestrator: Thrives in ambiguity, confidently manages competing priorities across a complex product and platform portfolio, and consistently delivers structured outcomes at scale.
  • Financially Fluent: Comfortable working with TCO models, investment cases, and budget variance analysis; brings a commercial lens to governance and operational decisions.
  • Change Leader: Embraces the shift from project-based to product-centric ways of working and actively enables teams and stakeholders to adopt new operating rhythms and governance practices.

Other Position Parameters:

The role reports to the Marketing, Sales, eCommerce and Regional CIO for Europe and operates as part of the extended MDS Digital/Data and functional leadership communities.

The PSOM works closely with the SVP MDS OCIDO Manager.

The position may require some international travel to support cross-regional alignment.
