π οΈ Facilities Maintenance Technician (Part-Time)
π’ About the Role
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, youβll be one of the heroes behind the scenes keeping our world magical, safe, and ship-shape! π Youβll work with a variety of tools, use your curiosity to solve problems, support daily operations, and help protect the guest experience we all LOVE at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Bay Area!

Qualifications & Experience
Key Responsibilities:
- π§ Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all attraction equipment and machinery including HVAC, electronic, systems to keep the magic running smoothly.
- π’ Jump in with hands-on problem-solving to minimize downtime and ensure guests enjoy seamless, unforgettable experiences.
- π‘ Support a wide range of tasks including lighting work, re-lamping, painting, wall repair, exhibit setup and takedown, tech equipment upkeep, and general handyman repairs.
- π₯ Maintain and troubleshoot Audio Visual systems for both long-time favorites and newly installed exhibits.
- π οΈ Install or replace bulbs, projector lamps, doors, hardware, and other essential attraction components.
- π¨ Inspect, repair, and maintain ride systems and attraction equipment while upholding top safety and reliability standards.
- π Complete work orders, inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance tasks, and system adjustments on schedule.
- π§° Assist with interior touch-ups including painting, furniture assembly, hanging dΓ©cor, and other repair needs.
- π» Set up and troubleshoot data cables, computer outlets, and basic networking connections.
- ποΈ Monitor building systems, identify issues, and correct or report safety or fire hazards promptly.
- π§Ή Follow safe working practices and keep storage and work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- π¨ Operate hand tools and power equipment confidently and safely.
- βοΈ Apply knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, networking, pumps, motors, actuators, AV systems, DMX lighting, PC hardware, and more to keep the attraction performing at its best.
- π€ Work independently while building positive relationships and collaborating with multiple departments.
- β¨ And of course, other exciting duties as assigned to help keep the entire attraction running at peak performance!
Education & Experience:
- π High school diploma or GED required.
- π οΈ Minimum two years of maintenance experience, preferably within attractions, entertainment venues, or other themed environments.
- π§ Hands-on experience with animation, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, electrical systems, electronics, and network-based equipment.
- β‘ A hardworking, proactive troubleshooter with a can-do attitude and a love for solving problems.
- π¨ Bonus points for handyman skills including painting, AV systems, basic carpentry, and general repair work.
- π Ability to multitask, stay organized, and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- π A reliable, safety-minded team player who takes pride in keeping the magic alive behind the scenes!
- π€ Weekend availability is required for this positon.
