ROLE Summary
The Animation Supervisor oversees the daily electromechanical maintenance of all custom LEGO® models and displays throughout the Resort, including Miniland, Park-wide areas, the Hotel, and the Beach Retreat. Responsibilities include morning startups, preventative maintenance, repairs, installations, and daily inspections. This role also supports other maintenance functions across the Resort and assists additional teams as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Main Responsibilities:
Safety
- Keep safety as the #1 priority in all activities and decisions.
- Follow all LEGOLAND Florida policies and procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and ensure guest and Model Citizen safety at all times.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Supervise, schedule, and assist with daily operations of the Model Shop team to ensure all LEGO® and prop models meet quality and safety standards before park opening.
- Plan, assign, and oversee model repairs, removals, storage, and installations.
- Identify training, coaching, and development needs for team members.
- Attend weekly staff meetings for directing, informing, and training.
Model Maintenance & Inspection
- Perform daily checks of Miniland displays and all animated/interactive components to ensure proper functionality. Assign resets and repairs as needed.
- Support other Model Shop needs as required.
- Ensure all assigned work is completed with sound workmanship.
Technical & Administrative Dutie
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order.
- Track inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Prepare time, labor, and materials estimates and complete work orders.
- Create and source quotes for materials and supplies.
- Stay up‑to‑date with modern techniques by attending training, seminars, and industry events.
Collaboration
- Communicate and work effectively across all Resort departments.
- Build strong working relationships with specialists and suppliers.
Health & Safety:
Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues, and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. They must ensure they follow safe working procedures for all work activities they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Leadership or management experience in maintenance, technical, or craftsman roles.
- Strong knowledge of LEGO® products.
- Technical competencies in troubleshooting and maintaining animation effects, PLC systems, show controllers, ladder logic programming, and OMRON controls.
- Ability to repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and A/V equipment.
- Ability to read schematic drawings and document changes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
Education:
- High school graduate or General Education Degree (or equivalent education and experience) is required.
Physical Demands:
- Standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and crawling at varying frequencies.
- Manual dexterity, repetitive hand/wrist motions, and grasping strength for tools and repairs.
- Ability to lift, carry, and lift overhead loads from under 10 lbs up to 100+ lbs (frequencies vary by weight range).
Additional Requirements:
- Work at heights up to 70 feet.
- Use ladders up to 30 feet.
- Perform work in confined spaces and water environments.
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor environments with variable temperatures and surfaces.
- Exposure to wet/humid conditions.
- Noise levels below OSHA’s 85‑decibel threshold, with varying frequency.
- Use of personal protective equipment as needed.
- Some driving required.

- Performs other duties as assigned
- Attendance is a mandatory function of this job
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support Resort operations.
