We are LEGOLAND California Resort - the place where FUN is built and memories are made. Across our Resort we have two fantastic LEGO themed Hotels, a Water Park, a SEA LIFE Aquarium, more than 60 rides and attractions, 20 food and beverage locations, and 14 retail stores – the opportunities here are endless!
We're now looking for a Water Quality Technician to join our Maintenance team.
Responsible for the installation, removal, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of all park water treatment and filtration systems. Maintains safe chemical balance levels in pools and lakes in accordance with health standards. Performs additional maintenance duties throughout the park and assists other Maintenance Model Citizens as directed by maintenance leadership.
Scope & Responsibilities
Adhere to the established maintenance program, including responding to emergency repairs to ensure continuous system operation
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times
Ensure tools, machinery, and company-issued equipment are properly maintained and in good working order
Identify equipment requiring repair, replacement, or adjustment and take appropriate action
Operate basic machine tools, including drill presses, power saws, grinders, and similar equipment
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls within the theme park, prioritizing the safety and comfort of guests and fellow Model Citizens
Maintain safety as the top priority in all tasks and work environments
Accurately complete daily time and material (T&M) documentation before leaving the property
Comply with all LEGOLAND California policies and procedures
Participate in weekly staff meetings for communication, training, and operational alignment
Collaborate effectively with maintenance team members and coordinate with other departments as needed
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Functions
Knowledge of water filtration and treatment systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance
Experience with basic plumbing practices, including PVC piping installation and repair
Ability to read and interpret utility blueprints and technical drawings related to filtration systems
Knowledge of water treatment chemicals and testing methods to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Ability to read reports, evaluate documentation, and perform basic mathematical calculations
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective in emergency or high-pressure situations
Ability to follow supervisory instructions, retain details, and work independently when required
Customer service–oriented mindset with a friendly and professional demeanor
Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, equipment, and technology required to perform job duties
Education & Certification Requirements
High school diploma or GED (or equivalent education and experience) required
Must obtain an Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification within six (6) months of hire
Required to obtain and maintain NAARSO or equivalent amusement ride inspection certification
Physical Demands
Ability to maintain physical fitness required to perform job duties safely
Frequent lifting and moving of moderate to heavy loads (25–75 lbs), including uneven weight distribution
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
Ability to hear and communicate effectively in environments with background noise that may exceed 85 decibels
Required to wear company-issued uniforms and PPE while maintaining a neat, professional appearance in accordance with LEGOLAND California standards
Work Environment
Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures and surface conditions
Regular exposure to wet, humid, dusty, or dirty conditions, as well as extreme heat or cold
Exposure to swimming pool treatment chemicals, petroleum products, and cleaning solutions
Ability to work at heights, enter confined spaces, and use fall protection equipment
Other Requirements
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to daily park operations
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; must be willing to use personal vehicle for business purposes
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Climbing vertical ladders, working at heights, and entering confined spaces
Walking up to 2 miles daily, including frequent stair climbing, and operating a tricycle as required
Operating heavy equipment and using company-issued tools, tablets, computers, and two-way radios
Wearing required PPE, including respirators (must pass fit testing), waders, and safety gear
Maintaining clean, safe, and organized work areas
Responding promptly to emergency maintenance calls to ensure the safety of guests and team members

Pay Range
Compensation between USD $23.00/Hr.-USD $23.00/Hr.
