Do you want to work with some of Australia’s most iconic animals in one of the world’s greatest visitor attractions? Are you passionate about conservation and creating incredible guest experiences? If the thought of delivering magic to over a million guests every year makes you smile, then we have an amazing opportunity for you to join our team here at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium as an Assistant Aquarist/Keeper – Casual.

About the Role

We connect guests with wildlife through creating and maintaining engaging world-class displays, delivering memorable guest experiences and ensuring best-practice animal welfare. This role will be to support the curatorial team in ensuring consistently high standards of display presentation and animal husbandry.

About You

A passion for working in the tourism/attraction industry is essential to any of our roles.

To shine in this position, you will also have:

Essential:

  • Experience in an animal care role, preferably in a zoo or aquarium setting.
  • Be guest obsessed demonstrating a passion for guest experience, education and connecting people with sea life, sustainability, and conservation.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, cope with frequent and unpredictable changes to daily routine and workloads, and to work, at times under high pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work unsupervised, assess tasks, and set priorities for self.
  • Current (or willingness to obtain at own expense) NSW Working with Children Check.

Desirable:

  • Current First Aid / CPR.
  • Tertiary qualifications in animal care.
