What you'll bring to the team

We have an additional requirement for a committed and detailed Housekeeper to join our close-knit and friendly team at our exciting SEA LIFE centre in Scarborough!

Working around some of the world’s most interesting and diverse ocean wildlife you will be an integral part of the attractions Housekeeping team and well as leaning a hand on occasion in other departments, you should find this role rewarding!

Essentially, you will be required to carry out detailed cleaning tasks as part of a team but still using your own initiative. You’ll be ensuring that the attraction and facilities including toilet areas are fresh, clean, neat and sanitised, always ready for the use of our visitors and guests.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Thoroughly clean and sanitise all toilet areas

  • Ensure the display areas, Crazy Golf section and Children’s play area are clean and hazard free

  • Adhere to all housekeeping rules, procedures, and health and safety standards

  • To be conscious of KPI’s, take pride in your work and always demonstrate a strong attention to detail

  • Strive to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation

This is a contractual position, which is offering 10 hours as a minimum but not exceeding 37.5 per week. The role will see you covering off-peak and on-peak requirements throughout the 2026 season, as well as holidays, and sickness as and when. A typical start time from as early as 8am / 9 am with a typical closing time of 5pm / 6pm.

Qualifications & Experience

  • To possess a hard-working, committed and professional nature

  • Being a strong supportive team player who can use their own initiative

  • Have attention to detail, with a “what’s wrong with this picture, lets fix it!” mentality

  • Experience meeting KPI requirements in a past housekeeping or cleaning role in an open public setting would be beneficial

  • Genuine appreciation for wildlife and nature would be useful in this position

  • Working appreciation of COSHH, Health and Safety
