What you'll bring to the team

Ever dreamed of welcoming peasants to York’s darkest depths and dishing out dungeon delights? We're recruiting Guest Experience Hosts to drag visitors kicking and screaming (with laughter) through York’s most gruesome past.

You’ll be:

• Greeting our rebel rabble with a cold, sarcastic grin.
• Stocking them up with Dungeon goodies (no refunds for cursed items).
• Answering foolish questions like, “Is it scary?” (Yes. Next.)
• Lurking around as a sales demon extraordinaire.

Sure, it’s cold, damp, and smells suspiciously of rotting flesh, but isn’t that part of the charm?

This is a seasonal role offering a minimum of 5 guaranteed hours per week and contracted up until September 2026 (with the potential to extend over Halloween). Flexibility is needed including the ability to work weekends and full availability during the May holiday.

Those who are successful will be expected to have their first day and induction on Friday, 22nd May 2026, with training to commence on Saturday 23rd May 2026.

Qualifications & Experience

• Lots of experience working in a customer facing environment
• Have an outgoing personality
• Confidence and energy to interact with the dungeon dwellers and of course the traitors
• A sharp tongue and a love of customer chaos
• The energy to keep up with dungeon dwellers and traitors alike
