What you'll bring to the team

Bring Creativity and Craftsmanship to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort

At LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, every ride vehicle, prop, and themed element helps create unforgettable experiences for our guests. As a Fiberglass & Paint RepairTechnician, you'll use your expertise in fiberglass and gelcoat repair, refinishing, painting, color matching, and detailing to restore and maintain these assets to show-quality standards. Working from blueprints, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions, you'll play a key role in preserving the immersive environments that bring our Resort to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair, restore, and refurbish fiberglass, gelcoat, and painted surfaces on ride vehicles, props, and themed elements.
  • Perform surface preparation, cosmetic repairs, wet sanding, compounding, detailing, and color matching to achieve show-quality finishes.
  • Apply paints and coatings using spray guns, airless sprayers, rollers, brushes, and other finishing equipment.
  • Operate and maintain pressure-washing, painting, and finishing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Manage assigned projects from assessment through completion, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work instructions to determine dimensions, materials, and finish requirements.
  • Identify and communicate equipment, material, or design issues to supervisors and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare material requests, labor estimates, and work order documentation.
  • Maintain park props, themed elements, and painted surfaces in excellent condition.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests to support safe and uninterrupted park operations.
  • Maintain personal tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with maintenance team members and other departments to support operational needs.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, placing safety as the highest priority.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications & Education

  • Experience in fiberglass repair, auto body repair, painting, refinishing, detailing, and pressure washing required.
  • Proficiency with spray equipment, including airless sprayers.
  • Knowledge of fiberglass materials, painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing processes.
  • Experience maintaining or repairing themed props, attraction components, ride vehicles, or similar structures preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work, follow direction, and manage multiple assignments.
  • Must provide and maintain the hand tools necessary to perform the duties of the position.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Technical training or certification in a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Use tools, equipment, and materials only as trained and report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Manual dexterity required to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment.
  • Visual acuity required for detailed repair, painting, finishing, and inspection work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by radio, and by telephone.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to dust, paint, fiberglass materials, chemicals, noise, and humidity.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and other required safety equipment.
  • Work may be performed in controlled paint and finishing booths, maintenance shops, and throughout the resort and theme park.

USD $24.00/Hr.
