We’re looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the SEA LIFE Trust Finance team, based at our office in Poole. This is a hands-on role supporting the financial operations of a global conservation charity, ensuring accuracy, control and timely reporting across multiple entities.
In this role, your work will directly support our mission, helping ensure funding and resources are managed effectively to protect marine life now and for the future.

What you will be doing
- Maintain accurate receivables and payables across the SEA LIFE Trust and its subsidiaries.
- Process financial transactions including supplier payments, staff expenses and payroll, always ensuring accuracy.
- Prepare and manage payment runs, ensuring suppliers are paid promptly.
- Post and reconcile bank transactions, keeping records up to date and reliable.
- Support the recovery of outstanding receivables in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with month-end processes including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journals.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual accounts including Audit liaison and maintain key schedules throughout the year.
- Produce reporting outputs including variance analysis, fundraising insight and weekly revenue updates.
- Support statutory submissions such as VAT and Gift Aid returns.
- Assist with international finance activities, including tax and financial processes linked to our Iceland operations.
- Maintain key financial records including fixed assets and control accounts.
This is a permanent, full-time role.
Qualifications & Experience
You’re organised, reliable and take pride in getting the detail right. You enjoy working with numbers and want your work to contribute to something meaningful.
You should also bring:
- Experience supporting finance processes such as payables, receivables and reconciliations.
- An understanding of month-end activities and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confidence working with financial data and systems.
- A proactive approach, able to manage your workload and meet deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Experience of Icelandic language and/or Icelandic financial processes would be an advantage
