Safety is paramount in everything we do. This role is part of the Asset Management team, which is an integral part of our Technical Services department. As a member of the Asset Management team, you will play a major role in the success of our resort and have one of the most important responsibilities throughout the park. You must always provide and guarantee a fun, safe environment for our guests, with a focus on safety, ensuring that our equipment, rides, and buildings are inspected, maintained, and repaired to the highest standards.

The Asset Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance work to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of rides, attractions, and facilities at LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

This role focuses on work preparation, not execution – developing high-quality job plans, ensuring materials and resources are available, and supporting maintenance teams with clear, accurate, and executable maintenance schedules. The Maintenance Planner works closely with maintenance supervisors, technicians, and the Asset Warehouse to improve operations, reduce downtime, and support long-term asset reliability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Keep Safety as #1 priority
  • Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
    • Develop detailed job plans for preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance work.
    • Ensure work orders include accurate scopes, task steps, labor estimates, required skills, safety requirements, and materials.
    • Plan and schedule maintenance activities in coordination with maintenance leadership and operational priorities.
    • Support weekly and long-range maintenance scheduling to maximize workforce efficiency and asset availability.
    • Communicate status of incoming Work Requests and their status changes to completion.
  • Preventive Maintenance & Asset Support
    • Maintain and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs based on OEM requirements, regulatory standards, and operational experience.
    • Review maintenance history and asset performance data to recommend improvements to maintenance strategies.
    • Support inspections, overhauls, refurbishments, and shutdown planning as required.
    • Ensure maintenance plans align with asset criticality and risk.
    • Communicate maintenance plans with Operations / Commercial / Safety teams to ensure schedule and compliance requirements are optimized.
  • Materials & Resource Coordination
    • Coordinate with the Asset Warehouse to ensure parts, tools, and materials (kitting) are available prior to job execution.
    • Identify critical spare parts and long-lead items required to support planned maintenance work.
    • Reduce maintenance delays caused by material shortages or poor planning.
  • CMMS & Data Accuracy
    • Create, update, and manage work orders, job plans, PMs, and asset data within the CMMS / EAM system.
    • Ensure accurate BOMs, task lists, and maintenance documentation are maintained.
    • Close the loop with maintenance teams to capture feedback and improve future job plans.
  • Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
    • Track and report maintenance planning KPIs (e.g., schedule compliance, backlog health, wrench time).
    • Participate in root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
    • Act as a key link between maintenance teams, the Asset Manager, and Asset Warehouse
    • Promote Merlin / LEGOLAND values and standards in all aspects of work.

Qualifications & Experience

Technical & Professional Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, or skilled maintenance trades.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning principles and workflows.
  • Hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or facilities systems.
  • Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems (e.g., Infor EAM, HxGn, Maximo, SAP PM, Fiix, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and OEM documentation.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Education:

Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, facilities, or industrial maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting maintenance in an industrial, facilities, or theme park environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the resort and interact with employees.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.

Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Attendance is a mandatory function of this job
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support Resort operations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes.
