Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to become a senior leader within the MBDA Supply Chain Quality team. Driving robust process control, Quality assurance and continuous improvement across a variety of defence projects.

Salary: Circa £60,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site at MBDA (Including physical travel to supply chain where applicable)

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

Are you a Senior Quality Professional with a passion for Supply Chain Quality strategy and continuous improvement?

  • Opportunity to become a senior leader within the growing Supply Chain Quality Team at MBDA. Responsible for a team of Principal Supplier Quality Assurance Engineers supporting various defence programmes (Reporting to Head of Quality Assurance – Supply Chain UK)

  • Ensuring that the team has the skills, capabilities and focus to provide robust supply chain Quality Assurance techniques throughout the lifecycle of the programmes

  • Primary interface for Supply chain Quality activities. Co-ordinating the delivery of Quality Assurance across our supply chain to prevent programme quality risks.

  • Responsible for transversal Supply Chain Quality surveillance, Supply Chain Quality Strategy, establishing and assuring supplier Quality / customer requirements, Non-Conformance and Quality Risk management

  • Supports the Head of Quality Assurance – Supply Chain in the deployment of short, medium and long term objectives with respect to Quality targets and milestones

What we're looking for from you:

Leadership

  • Leadership / Quality management experience involving the improvement of product & processes throughout the area of responsibility

  • Ability to provide technical product and process support to the wider supply chain Quality team and programmes

  • Strong communication skills in line with MBDA values

  • Strong Project Management Experience from a Quality perspective

  • Supports cross training of other quality team members

  • Proactive and driven work ethic with a passion for Quality and continuous improvement

  • Strong people management, soft skills & leadership experience

Strategy

  • Ability to implement wider team objectives and support transversal projects across MBDA

  • Drives the deployed leading Quality indicators and supports other functions as appropriate to ensure team objectives met

Quality & Supply Chain

  • Experienced in the identification of Quality risks, critical issues and mitigation solutions to assure achievement of supplier Quality performance

  • Ability to work with suppliers to develop robust process in line with the defined quality tools and techniques

  • Ability to assure compliance to process requirements and contractual standards

  • Practitioner of current QA problem solving methods & core quality skills

  • Qualified auditor to AS9100 standard & capable of managing transversal supplier Audit schedule

  • Implementation of APQP tools to new development and to mass production products

  • Strong NPI & Product development experience

  • Experience in Supplier Quality management, supporting cross functional teams

  • Experienced in the management of Quality surveillance audits and Quality assurance techniques

Management Systems

  • Experience in implementing Quality systems and techniques throughout full product lifecycle

  • Understanding of Supply Chain Quality Management and performance techniques

  • Ability to support the adherence, maintenance and improvement of quality processes

  • Quality management experience utilising supplier Quality dashboards, KPI’s and data analysis to drive continuous improvement, process control and assurance across the Supplier Quality team
