Job Description

Creating the future world we want to live in relies on effective planning today, delivered for the UK through this Research & Technology (R&T) Planning role and supporting team.

Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 1 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

This role sits within a small close knit team in UK R&T but has broad linkages across every part of the business from Programmes to Technical Functions, Strategy to Future Systems & Emerging Technologies. It seeks to understand the future product R&T needs as well as influence the future product portfolio through facilitating appropriate tech push.

It coheres R&T planning views, working across the business to link technology developers to known and future programme needs. It owns the UK R&T relationships with the future systems and critical technology functions as well as UK R&T route map development. It plays a key part in UK R&T communication both at director level and more broadly seeking to maintain common views at delivery level escalating known challenges and supporting resolution implementation. It seeks to maintain effective technical and strategic relationships across the breadth of the business and in to UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) to promote and encourage delivery of UK R&T needs.

  • Ability to understand business level impacts / strategies and propose R&T research needs
  • Strong passion for technology, collaboration & high levels of cultural sensitivity
  • Interest in & passion for new & emerging technologies
  • Ability to understand technology potential vs business strategy and devise business routes & ways of workings to realise that potential at pace
