Following a recent company re-organisation MBDA’s UK Procurement Directorate has introduced a ‘Governance and Performance’ (G&P) team to support the function’s drive to deliver excellence to our customers by ensuring robust governance, performance management and compliance across all of our Procurement activities.

The UK G&P Business Management Executive is a high-visibility role that contributes to the strategic direction of Procurement UK reporting to the Senior Procurement Executive Operational Effectiveness – G&P UK.

Your mission will be to create the framework for efficient, productive, and agile procurement operation. You will be overseeing process harmonisation and simplification whilst driving the transformation of the UK Procurement approach to governance. With full oversight of the processes, reporting, resources and budgets required by the UK function, you will lead your team to deliver against your strategic vision, encouraging a culture of engagement, and a reputation for excellence.

You must be able to be the bridge between strategic intent and operational reality for your team whilst influencing senior leadership across a significant stakeholder community (extending beyond just Procurement UK) in order to set clear direction and encourage new ways of working. This role is for a leader who is comfortable mastering ambiguity and taking independent ownership of activities that will deliver meaningful change.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Strategic Leadership: The ability to translate a broad mission into a concrete vision and a delivery plan
  • Tenacity & Resilience: Proven experience in navigating complex organisations, with the resilience to drive change and influence peers and senior leadership.
  • Independent Decision Making: A logical mindset capable of handling complex, impactful decisions independently and taking full strategic ownership of the results.
  • Wider Business Perspective: An understanding of the broader business impacts beyond your immediate team, with the ability to establish measures to mitigate risks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to collaborate with department heads and executives across our stakeholder community.
  • Operational Mastery: Experience in functional management, including strategic workforce planning, succession planning, and budget accountability, along with the ability to develop and establish a robust approach to reporting across large departments.
  • Innovation Drive: A proactive approach to driving innovation, organisational evolution and continuous improvement.
  • People Management Experience: You will be managing a small team with the potential to grow as the organisation becomes more established.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with a professional qualification from a recognised procurement association or institute, such as APICS or CIPS. However, appropriate and equivalent experience in a procurement-based position will be given due consideration.
