Sustainability Global Data and External Report Lead (H/F/X)

Location: Aimargues (30 min from Montpellier)

Type of contract: Permanent (CDI)

Global Sustainability Team at Royal Canin (RC) is charged with spearheading the development, execution, and oversight of our comprehensive sustainability strategy across all RC business units and global regions, aligning with RC’s Divisional Priorities (Corp Strategy) and the Mars Sustainable in a Generation Plan.

The Sustainability Data and External Report Lead will oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of sustainability data to ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory, and stakeholder requirements.

This role will also lead the creation of external sustainability reports, such as annual sustainability reports, ensuring alignment with recognized standards and frameworks. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in data management with a strong understanding of sustainability issues and communication practices.

What will be your key responsibilities :

Data Management & Analysis:

· Develop and implement robust systems for collecting, verifying, and analyzing sustainability data across the organization.

· Define and own the Sustainability Data strategy for Royal Canin (including the strategy related to data tools and systems)

· Ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment with internal and external reporting standards.

· Analyze data to provide insights that drive sustainability performance improvement.

External Reporting:

· Lead the preparation of external sustainability reports, ensuring adherence to frameworks such as GRI.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather content, validate data, and craft compelling narratives for external audiences.

· Stay updated on evolving sustainability disclosure regulations around the world and adapt reporting processes accordingly.

Stakeholder Engagement:

· Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and partners to validate and verify sustainability performance data.

· Work with Digital teams (DT, D&A, EOS) within Royal Canin, but also at Petcare and Coporate level to develop aligned strategies, make synergies and ensure alignment in data reporting and tool development

Strategic Input:

· Support the development of the organization's sustainability strategy by providing data-driven insights and trends.

· Monitor global sustainability and ESG trends to identify risks and opportunities for the business

Compliance, Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

· Conduct periodic strategic reviews of Royal Canin’s sustainability goals, plans, and targets, ensuring that KPIs, reporting, and management methods effectively drive results.

· Prepare and present reports on sustainability initiatives, performance metrics, and investment updates through the Sustainability Governance processes.

Stakeholder Engagement:

· Convey Royal Canin’s packaging sustainability efforts and successes to internal and external stakeholders.

· Provide training and support to internal teams on sustainable reporting practices and business commitments.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sustainability data management, ESG reporting, or a related field. · Familiarity with global sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP). · Hands-on experience with data visualization and management tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Deep understanding of sustainable reporting principles, best practices, and industry trends. · Knowledge of packaging materials, recycling processes, and circular economy principles. · Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Deep passion for sustainability and its impact on the planet, people, and pets.
  • Experience in social/humanitarian fields is advantageous.
