Unit Operations Lead
12 month fixed term contract
Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire.
This role leads the Unit Operations team at the Waltham Petcare Science Institute. It gives strategic direction for the group of over 70 associates, plus contractors and ensures that the team deliver excellent operational results.
It is an integral member of the Waltham Operations leadership team and as such has shared responsibility for the development and execution of the overall operational strategy.

What will be your key responsibilities?
- Creation and delivery of a significant change programme to transform culture and ways of working across the site and to ensure that Waltham Research is delivered on the units in a lean, quality and effective way.
- Accountable for Quality Health, Safety, Security and Environmental standards on all Waltham animal units, ensuring that appropriate metrics and continuous improvement targets are defined, monitored and met.
- Accountable for the day to day operational delivery on all Waltham animal units including maintenance of animal welfare targets, home Office standards and provision of care and training for all pets on site. This would include the development, tracking and delivery of relevant KPIs.
- Leading a team of 5 engaged direct reports, ensuring they have the necessary direction and resources required to succeed within their roles, and ensuring their on-going personal and professional development.
