The Waltham Petcare Science Institute provides the word-class science behind the MARS Petcare brands. Our work at WALTHAM covers diverse topics in pet nutrition, health, and wellbeing and is achieved through designed experiments and real-world data. In addition, we join forces with other MARS Petcare teams in the Science domain to collectively work on making a better world for pets.

What are we looking for?

An experienced systems lead for managing the full life cycle of our data collection systems. The following elements are required/desired:

  • Significant experience in life cycle management of complex operational IT systems.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • People management experience including technical mentoring, soft skill development, and engagement.

  • Comfortable interfacing with a variety of stakeholders including business leaders, users, data engineers, and data scientists.

  • Experience in an R&D environment is an asset.

  • A master’s degree in a computing, a scientific, or a mathematical topic is an asset.

What will be your key responsibilities?

As a member of the WALTHAM data analytics leadership team, you will:

  • Oversee the development, configuration, and support of operational IT systems for data collection.

  • People manage a small team of system owners.

  • Manage an IT programme for pet centre data collection systems in partnership with the Petcare IT organisation.

  • Co-lead the Waltham data analytics team.
