The Sustainable Packaging Procurement Coordinator will be playing a vital role in the implementation of sustainable packaging into Mars Pet Nutrition in Europe, in line with Mars Inc Sustainable in a Generation Goals. You will be supporting procurement in one of the biggest packaging transformations implemented in our network, connecting with a cross functional business team to facilitate its successful launch. You will be the key link with our suppliers, ensuring they are able to deliver our new packaging solutions on time and ensure that the supply chain is set up to be fit for purpose.

What are we looking for?

  • Very Good Analytical skills
  • Very Good Spoken and Written skills (Native language and English)
  • Supply Chain/Procurement Principles
  • Lean Principles
  • Good understanding of Project Management processes
  • Preferred - University Degree Level (e.g.: Finance, Economics BSc) or equivalent education
  • Supply chain or procurement experience would be an advantage
  • Ideally SAP, standard IT systems knowledge (Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams...)

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Be the first point of contact for procurement sustainable packaging related day-to-day procurement operations.
  • Represent the Procurement function in packaging sustainability project teams
  • Responsible/Accountable for ready-to-order availability of packaging for the sustainability projects
  • Ensure that supply disruption is avoided, by working with suppliers to validate the supply chain and have materials ready to order as needed
  • Support the Strategic Sourcing team with tender preparation and analysis
  • Support introduction and set up of new suppliers to our sites where necessary
  • Be the first point of Procurement contact for escalation of supply issues to mitigate supply disruptions for sustainable packaging
  • During and following launch, lead Supplier Performance Management and operational excellence with site suppliers of sustainable packaging, building effective relationships and driving continuous improvement in service and efficiency through formal review meetings and informal connections.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreement creation and adherence (in collaboration with Logistics) with suppliers to site.
  • Collaborate with Logistics to ensure adequate actions to reduce packaging non quality costs.
  • Responsible for obtaining commodity codes and country of original information for relevant imported packaging for master data set up.
  • Validate, allocate and process fixed cost on pack materials from suppliers.
