Job Purpose/Overview

As a key member of the Pet Nutrition (PN) China Management Team, the Supply Chain and S&OP+ Director is responsible for China supply strategy, holistic supply chain management and S&OP+ (i.e. IBP) processes, including planning, commercial direct sourcing & SQA, logistics, import/export, customer service, and activity management. This role ensures China supply strategy fit for China business needs as pull of demand and drives alignment with global supply chain strategies while managing local execution and collaboration with Global Supply teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning & Execution

  • Lead enterprise planning process to ensure business operating efficiency
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance service levels and cost efficiency.

2. Logistics and import/export Management

  • Oversee warehouse and distribution center operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
  • Oversee import and export execution to ensure timely goods delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Implement cost-effective logistics strategies, including transportation optimization and materials handling, to improve supply chain performance.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels across distribution centers, ensuring optimal stock placement and minimizing costs.
  • Coordinate with external logistics providers to ensure seamless execution of transportation and delivery activities.

3. Customer Service

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective order fulfillment and service excellence.

  • Manage customer service metrics, such as on-time delivery and order accuracy, to meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience.

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align supply chain operations with customer demand and preferences.

4. S&OP+ Leadership

  • Lead the S&OP+ process and maturity improvement, including activity management for innovation pipeline projects on-time quality delivery, to align cross-functional teams and support decision-making.

  • Facilitate periodic business management review meetings, review KPIs, drive gap closing conversations, and identify risks and opportunities to deliver business targets.

5. Team Leadership & People Development

  • Manage and develop a team of Supply Chain and S&OP+ professionals to achieve operational targets and drive continuous improvement.

  • Provide coaching and development opportunities for direct reports and the whole team.

6. Global Collaboration

  • Work closely with Global Supply Chain and S&OP teams to align local operations with global strategies.

  • Represent China in regional and global supply meetings to drive common goal alignment and collaboration.

7. Strategic Initiatives

  • Craft and implement supply chain strategy to enhance service, reduce costs, and deliver innovation projects.

  • Lead digitalization initiatives to meet future business needs and improve supply chain agility.

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA is preferred; experience in the FMCG is preferred.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience and track record of success in S&OP processes and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in supply chain tools and systems.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and drive results.
