Job Description:
Purpose of Role:
To coordinate the overall sanitation of the facility and the handling of all waste streams. This includes dealing with government agencies and outside service vendors in the areas of scrap, cleaning chemical usage and overall facility sanitation.
Principal Accountabilities:
· Operate and maintain waste treatment facility
· Change and monitor filter socks as needed.
· Work with system technicians to plan, prioritize and schedule maintenance work.
· Set-up, operate and maintain CIP systems for plant.
· Perform equipment teardowns, rebuilds, chemical titrations, and inspections.
· Monitor and ensure proper specifications are met and tracked.
· Ensure all documentation is filled out correctly and maintained.
· Direct and advise others in assigned area(s).
· Disassemble, reassemble, sanitize and inspect various other production equipment.
· Work with production planning to identify and utilize available equipment idle time. Request site resources as necessary.
· Plan and coordinate shutdown activities
· Follow-up on unplanned work orders.
· During down periods, assist in area repairs and PMs.
· Train and teach Maintenance Services associates.
· Interact with and manage all area outside vendors.
· Manage site pest control activities.
· Responsible for identifying, proposing and implementing improvements to plant systems to reduce costs and/or improve operating efficiencies.
· To troubleshoot various production and site systems.
· To manage the waste treatment plant and schedule scrap and waste removal.
· To manage and replenish the inventories of cleaning chemicals.
· To keep the central pressure system (CPS) hoses and nozzles in working condition.
· Keep the records necessary for pest control, roof inspections and the ODA, FDA and EPA logs.
· Approve invoices and submit purchase requisitions for area goods and services.
· Able to complete all tasks assigned by manager abiding by the Mars Quality and Safety Practices.
Mission Critical Competencies:
· To effectively deal both in writing and verbally with associates and outside vendors.
· Highly developed problem solving skills used to troubleshoot various pieces of equipment. – scrubbers, CIP, power washers, and waste treatment facility equipment.
· To plan and coordinate various plant wide shutdown sanitation activities.
· To be able to thoroughly and efficiently train Maintenance Services associates on new and existing area procedures.
· The ability to assist system technicians in building, modifying and scheduling PMs on their assigned equipment, ensuring conformance with established PM program objectives and procedures.
· Have plant wide in-depth knowledge of processes and systems.
· Each associate is responsible to complying to the Mars Petcare quality and food safety policies, procedures, QMP and other auditable quality, food safety and regulatory standards in order to ensure a safe and quality product intended to delight the customer.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
