Title: Sr Director, Pet Parent Insights (Consumer Insights)

Location(s): Franklin, TN; Newark, NJ; United Kingdom

Workstyle: Hybrid (In Office and Work from Home)

As Mars Pet Nutrition transforms its growth, we’re putting the pet parent at the heart of everything we do. This associate will spearhead our global consumer and brand insights capability, uncovering foundational insights, shaping business decisions, enabling the long-term growth delivery for our brands, and ultimately transforming the pet parent experience.

This role reports to the Global VP of Consumer and Market Insights and is a key member of the Global Insights Council. The associate sets a clear vision, coaches the team, and prioritizes learning initiatives to shape the global insights agenda. Collaborating with global and regional marketing and insights leaders, they deliver and embed a cohesive learning plan that maximizes impact and creates a competitive advantage.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Preferred: MBA or advanced degree.
  • 15+ years in market research and consumer insights with significant leadership experience. CPG industry experience strongly preferred.
  • P5-7 years of experience in leading and managing teams to deliver breakthrough insights and business impact
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex research findings and tell compelling stories to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to pilot and scale new approaches, tools, and deploy methodologies across teams and geographies.
  • Proven track record of building and nurturing talent, providing clear direction, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to set a compelling vision for the team, aligning business goals with strategies to drive long-term strategic planning.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Develop foundational understanding of consumer behavior in the global pet food market and guide the team to deliver and embed learnings in the global growth organization. Drive global measurement programs on brand equity, purpose, sustainability, and other key areas to shape business understanding on key topics.
  • Champion Delivery of Global Brand Learning Plan: Coach the team to drive alignment and deliver on global brand learning plans to identify territories to unlock brand growth, validate strategic assets, and identify the consumer “who” and “why” to fuel our brands’ success.
  • Work with marketing and cross-functional teams to codify and integrate consumer insights into business strategy, long term planning, and product development.
  • Champion for the global learning agenda and ensure global learning plans are aligned and synchronized with regional insights leads and other Petcare divisions
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team of nine insights professionals, fostering a high-trust, collaborative, specialist culture.
