This shift line management role leads and develops a team of 8 to 35 Operations associates to deliver Value-Stream KPIs and project initiatives under our Supply Excellence strategy.
What are we looking for?
This is a line management role, responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a group of Operations associates to ensure the delivery of shift, daily and weekly KPIs. Leading the FMOS process within their Value-Stream, the TL drives the decision-making and escalations to ensure delivery of the strategic Big Rocks (Safety, Quality, CSL & Performance) through their team and peers. They will ensure the adequate crewing levels and skills are in place to deliver KPIs each shift through managing labour flexibility. Through process confirmations and spending time with associates on the line, the Team Leader will coach associates through problem-solving and continuous improvement opportunities.
Managing a team of 8-35 associates, the TL is responsible for the line management activities including managing PDPs, career development, attendance management and any performance management or disciplinary matters in line with company processes and policies. A key part of the TL role is to create and develop a high-performing team; engaging, motivating and coaching their associates to deliver great results. The TL will work with the Value Stream Manager to ensure training, succession planning and recruitment is in place for the Value Stream.
The TL is a key member of the Value-Stream team and will participate in identifying and leading or partnering in OPEX initiatives to deliver projects within our Supply Excellence strategy.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Leading an operations shift team within a Value Stream to deliver priority KPIs including Safety and Quality & Food Safety through effective prioritisation, escalation and decision-making.
The Snr TL role is also an acting “Emergency Manager”, this role encompasses overall responsibility of the site out of hours and is a point of escalation.
Providing line management for a team of operations associates; allocating work, managing crewing levels and driving flexible working, conducting training, and ensuring that all attendance, performance and disciplinary matters are dealt with in accordance with company procedures
Building a high-performing team through developing associates individually and within the team. Driving the engagement of associates through coaching and impact planning. Developing associates through effective PDP management to ensure functional, team and personal development.
Develops and leads factory-wide business communication, working with management and support functions to deliver effective messaging and feedback.
Provide clear communication to the team on initiatives within the Value Stream, as well as wider factory and business debriefs.
Collaborating within the Value Stream team to lead and partner in Continuous Improvement and OPEX projects, driving improvements in efficiency and other line KPIs.
Role model the FMOS process, leading JTMs and root cause analyses and coaching associates through the FMOS process.
To work closely with the VSM and value-stream peers to ensure the team has required capability, competence and attitude to succeed in delivering VS objectives; including taking part in internal and external recruitment processes.
To work within, and be a role model for Mars Policies and Practices and the 5P
To work closely with other Team Leaders on shift to ensure that resource is deployed efficiently to deliver required shift performance at both line and factory level.
