What are we looking for?

  • Minimum BSc degree or equivalent in Food Technology or comparable educational field

  • Proven experience (min 5 year) in food safety management systems and fundamentals, and its application within a business environment

  • Strong affinity with and/or experience in food safety management in the area of FSSC22000, HACCP & GMP/GHP management.

  • Has chemical & physical hazards knowledge relating to food raw materials

  • Experience in leading standard deployment activities across multiple manufacturing facilities; and capable to define realistic/pragmatic factory solutions based on theoretical standard requirements.

  • Good verbal and written level in English.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Regional expert leader for Food Safety standards relating to Chemical & Physical Hazards

  • Works closely together with the global Mars Wrigley and Corporate Q&FS teams, to represent the region during the development of segment and corporate Food Safety standards, in order to ensure that developed standards are relevant and fit-for-purpose for our region.

  • Responsible to lead the deployment of Food Safety standards (incl HACCP, GMP/GHP, Foreign Material Management & Food Defence) across the 10 factories in the region.

  • Leads regional communities of practice to ensure that standards are well understood, and are deployed in a feasible and harmonized manner.

  • The job holder will work closely together with stakeholders in R&D, Supply, and Commercial to ensure deployment plans are fully resourced and embedded in the regional Mars Wrigley quality agenda roadmap.

  • Responsible to provide training in the region in order to build in-depth competency development within the units.

Regional expert support for Chemical & Physical Hazard related Incidents and escalations

  • Responsible to provide food safety recommendations during Chemical & Physical Hazard related incident/crisis management.

  • Provide advice and guidance to the region for Chemical & Physical Hazard realted queries and escalations.

  • Work closely to global food safety stakeholders to ensure a harmonised Mars Wrigley approach to Chemical & Physical Hazard Incidents, projects and challenges.

  • Provide Chemical & Physical Hazards support to regional projects, which may include MARS site DS1 or DS2 Innovation projects, External manufacturing new product development or raw material supply security projects.

Regional Q&FS KPI and Reporting lead

  • Responsible for collating and reporting regional Q&FS KPIs/Metrics Into various forums (e.g. Quality Management Reviews, Supply Chain Management Reviews etc).

  • Proactively seeks ways to standardise reporting, using a Continuous Improvement approach to finding efficiencies In Q&FS metric reporting processes. Will actively deploy changes to reporting processes across the region.

  • Works closely with stakeholders (Global Q&FS) to ensure KPIs/Metrics are fit-for-purpose, stretching, and adding value to the business.

Food Safety expert contributor to the Materials Quality Management (MQM) process

  • Acts as a backup for the Region's Food Safety Material Risk Assessor; responsible for the Chemical & Physical Hazard Analysis evaluation and Supplier and Mars factory control measures review, as part of the Materials Risk Assessments (MRA) process.

  • Back-up Raw Material specification Food Safety (Chemical & Physical Hazards) review. Responsible for providing Food Safety input into and review of the Raw Material Specifications.
