The role will lead the development of category growth strategies for the Seasons & Gifting category & the Galaxy brand and provide insight and thought leadership to drive purchase. This role will be the voice of the category, customer and shopper, providing key insights linked to the Snacking Category Vision through key business forums and through effective stakeholder engagement. This role is critical to ensure Mars Wrigley growth plans are category and customer centric. The role will work closely with brand marketing, customer marketing, SRM and sales teams, to grow the category and Mars Wrigley’s share of the Snacking category. This will include ensuring Category Vision/Category growth plans play a key role through the S&OP+ processes & forums.

  • Proficiency in drafting and executing Category Strategy
  • Proven track record of successfully translating Insights into Growth Opportunities
  • Organizational savviness as the role involves working closely with multiple cross-functional stakeholders – Local and Regional
  • Strong influencing and story-telling skills
  • Familiarity with data platforms – Nielsen and Kantar
  • This position is office-based at the Slough site (2 days a week in office), and reports into the Category Strategy Head.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Build strong and influential relationships internally across the CBU, Category Leadership team, Customer marketing, SRM and Sales teams, based on delivering thought leadership through category strategy and vision building
  • Be the voice of the customer, category and shopper internally, inspiring and driving a category-first mindset and customer-centric culture
  • Deliver the critical customer, category and shopper inputs for the Seasons & Gifting & Galaxy strategic initiatives into S&OP+
  • Responsible for leading and delivering Seasons & Gifting & Galaxy category strategy story/category growth plan development internally:
  • Category Driver development, quantification, and growth strategies through Category Growth Plan
  • Influence category centric/moment-led brand and activation initiatives
  • Translate and execute Purchase Decision Hierarchy & segmentation into the future fixture vision
  • Support 3 year business planning (IVCP) and performance leadership
  • Support Innovation management through S&OP+ process
  • Develop and lead Category Selling Stories and Seasonal sell-ins
