An exciting opportunity to join the Mars Wrigley factory in Slough as a Reliability Engineer has become available, to support Slough on its journey to becoming a world class factory. The primary responsibility of the role is to provide technical input for our value stream, coordinate all technical activities and lead technical and RCA projects.

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive and proven technical experience (Mechanical, electrical & controls) & Problem Solving, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrable experience of building high-performing teams, and coaching other peers on technically related subjects

  • Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to relate to all people at all levels, from a variety of backgrounds and to confront difficult and challenging situations as required

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Provides all technical representation for the Operations lines.

  • Co-ordinates all technical activities within Operations lines.

  • Lead all associated co-ordination of Planned events (shutdowns, PM’s etc)

  • Responsible for prioritising escalation cards for the Operation Lines and tracking all cards/updates in appropriate systems.

  • Leads RCA events. Organises and facilitates the required associates that are best placed to attend. From the outcome develop this into a cohesive action plan based on the most likely cause descending to the least likely, identify all corrective actions and owners.

  • Works with the Continuous Improvement engineer / R&D and Industrial Engineering to analyse the unplanned technical losses of the lines, aligning Continuous Improvement activities with the maintenance Shift Manager and/or involving engineers based on priorities. As part of the Operations team, technical leads should provide reliability/maintenance input into the Operations Capital investment process.

  • Coaching the Operations team on ways of working to ensure our processes are followed.

  • Participates in the Factory Management Operations meetings having clarity on unplanned losses from the lines.

  • Participates in the Daily Reliability Review meeting, focussing on priority setting, corrective and preventative follow up to limit the unplanned losses

  • Participates in the weekly planning meeting, focussing on engaging/involving and updating the maintenance team. They are to set a clear direction for defect and improvement works.

  • Participates in the weekly Operations meeting setting direction for maintenance activities moving forward.

  • Facilitates the Escalation card review weekly meeting.

  • To provide hands on experience (on the tools) up to a maximum of 50% (controls, mechanical and electrical skills required)
