Job Description:

The Quality and Food Safety Systems Sr. Specialist provides functional leadership to develop, implement, maintain and improve Quality and Food Safety Management programs to ensure that end products are safe for human consumption and meet customer, consumer and regulatory requirements as well as all internal Quality & Food Safety global standards at our EGM Snacking site in Henderson, Nevada. This Associate will:

· Provide technical expertise and conducts incident investigation and risk analysis as well as provides recommendations for appropriate resolution.

· Lead continuous improvement of Q&FS systems and product quality and conformance to specification through analysis of data and evaluation of trends through use of statistical analysis.

· Partner with supply, R&D, commercial and other key stakeholders to implement changes, new process or new products in a safe manner and implement product quality conformance system.

· Be an active member of ‘community of practice’ in areas of demonstrated expertise such as: auditing, food safety, hold management/systems, statistical process control, packaging technology, etc.

· Impact quality of own work and the work of others on the team and cross functionally.

· Solve problems in defined situations, analyzes information using risk-based approach, technical experience, judgment, and precedents to determine possible solutions.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field

  • 2-3 years of experience in different quality related areas such as raw materials, distribution, manufacturing or

  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing site managing quality and food safety management systems responsible position related to food safety or Quality and food safety management system Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related technical field Experienced in food safety management, and 1-2 years’ experience in a quality role. HACCP, allergen, and sanitation management

What will your key responsibilities be?

· Lead in combination with Quality and Food Safety Manager, product related incident management process and provide recommendation on product disposition and act as backup to the Q&FS manager

· Lead the implementation of the Quality and Food Safety Global and local Standards including implementation plan, metrics report out and continuous improvement at the site level

· Liaison with internal and external parties as appropriate to ensure up to date with all Food Safety requirements including responsibility as the site Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for Food Safety Modernization Act

· Manages third party Quality and Food Safety Management systems certification audits

· Manages external audit programs and the internal quality audit function for the site through training associates, creating audit schedule, and ensuring a robust corrective and preventative action process.

· Governs Quality and Food Safety change management process in partnership with the Value Stream Lead as it relates to new products, equipment, or process, facilitating implementation of quality & food safety

through robust risk management process

· Development & roll out of food safety and quality training to the site and support functions (HACCP, Basic Food Safety, GMP’s, etc.)

· Collaborates with Q&FS Site team and supply partners to conduct the Q&FS management review at planned intervals to ensure suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the Q&FS management programs and

to identify improvement opportunities.

· Provide governance to the Microbiological verification and environmental program, Mycotoxin, HACCP, Cleaning and Sanitation programs and Microbiological verification and environmental program

· Responsible for providing site input to the Material Risk Assessments (MRA’s)

· Manage analytical program for the site, including training and round robins

· Partners with supply, R&D, and other key stakeholders to implement changes, new process or new products in a safe manner and implement product quality conformance system

· Responsible for reviewing Global standards, leading gap assessments, and managing the implementation of those standards and regulatory requirements, including Food Defense Plan and continuous improvement of

quality systems.

· Leads Q&FS continuous improvement projects at the site

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 79,280.00 - USD 109,010.00
