Project Engineer Automation & Control (f/m/x)

Location: Janaszówek

We are seeking Project Engineer Automation & Control to play a key role in the development and delivery of capital investments. This position provides technical expertise and leadership to multi-disciplinary teams working on a portfolio of engineering activities, with a primary focus on electrical and control systems.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead investment projects from preparation through execution and production start-up to final handover to internal clients, ensuring delivery in line with time, budget, quality, and defined business results.
  • Provide leadership and delivery of projects (or project parts) in the Electrical & Control expert area, including power supply, control systems (L1 & L2), MES, and data collection (including factory IT systems).
  • Deliver projects based on the Mars Project Management curriculum, from technical scoping with internal customers and business stakeholders through design to project closure.
  • Lead technical functional pillar or overall engineering project leader depending on complexity and budget.
  • Ensure human safety, Q&FS, and environmental requirements are implemented into technical solutions, including supervision and management of contractors and compliance with legal obligations.
  • Apply global/regional standards and legal requirements in project execution.
  • Act as a functional expert, providing engineering expertise to other departments in specific technology areas.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and issues in your area of expertise.
  • Participate in the Regional Community of Practice in your specific technology.
  • Liaise with sites in the cluster to provide input to regional and global standards, review and improve standards, and support implementation.

What are we looking for?

  • Graduated Engineering degree in Electrical/Control Systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of practical engineering experience in investment projects.
  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in food manufacturing.
  • Good understanding of assets reliability & maintenance management.
  • Certification/qualification to lead and execute work on live/energized equipment.
  • Good knowledge of power supply distribution systems.
  • Good understanding of factory IT systems.
  • Proven practical experience to lead projects.
  • Good knowledge of safety and quality management of engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles & methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to cooperate with functions outside of engineering.
  • Fluent in Polish and English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical skills in at least one area (e.g., packaging, process, or utilities).

Functional Skills:

  • Practical experience in PLC programming and debugging (Siemens and Rockwell control platforms: STEP7, TIA Portal, Studio 5000).
  • Knowledge of SCADA and MES systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Traksys, Ignition).
  • Knowledge of electrical installations design in power distribution systems and machinery control systems; basic knowledge of designing platforms (Autocad, Eplan, WSCAD).
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems, network structures, servers’ configuration, and working with virtual environments.
  • SQL database creation and management skills; basic knowledge of historian.
  • Basic knowledge of one programming language (VB, JavaScript, C#, Python).
  • Energy-related works qualification for G1.
  • Energy-related works qualification for G2 and G3.
  • Maintenance skills in automation systems.
  • Vision systems knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of robots/cobot technology.
