Here's the Scoop – Summary

The Production/Warehouse Operator is responsible for supporting the efficient and safe operation of equipment and processes within a pet food manufacturing facility. This position involves monitoring machinery, maintaining product quality standards, and following safety and sanitation protocols. Success in this role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The role is divided between production and warehouse work. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to transition between both functions throughout the workday to support operational demands.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Review the production schedule to determine ingredient requirements and priorities, check inventory levels, and coordinate ingredients for batching accordingly.
  • Assist with daily inventory counts, including bulk, extrusion, and bagged materials.
  • Support truck unloading activities to align with production needs, customer expectations, and carrier schedules.
  • Maintain accurate production and maintenance records, promptly reporting any issues to the area supervisor.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the work areas in compliance with company policies and health and safety standards.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to health and safety, food safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Assist with mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Assist with warehouse functions as required, such as material handling, inventory support, and general operational tasks.

What are we looking for?

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferably in food production.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using tools and equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift; certification is required.
  • Experience and/or certification in confined space entry and fall arrest procedures.
  • Proficiency in using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to accurately complete required documentation and reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Solid computer literacy.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Physically fit, with the ability to regularly lift loads up to 50 lbs.
