Job Purpose/Overview

The Portfolio & Innovation Analytics vertical within ODDA seeks to equip Mars Associates with the capabilities needed to address portfolio health and innovation from a holistic and analytics-driven viewpoint.

What are we looking for?

Job Specifications/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, and related field. Advanced degree preferred

  • Significant experience in data science work, managing and building advanced analytics

  • Analytics experience, preferably in the Consumer Products Good Industry. Experience in demand side analytics like route to market, strategic pricing, trade promotions and retailer dynamics

  • Experience in developing analytical models using multi variate regression and build machine learning algorithms using data science experience

  • Analyze large and complex data sources such as Nielsen

  • CPG and Retailer knowledge preffered

  • Manage and collaboratively work with both internal and external data engineering and data science teams to ensure the right outcomes are delivered through the tools and models

  • Ability to understand business requirements, lead design thinking sessions to frame the problem and help create an advanced analytics plan through business insights for trade strategy implementation and price execution

  • Able to establish strong working relationship at all organizational levels across different functional teams

  • Strong articulation skills to present insights and recommendations from exploratory analysis, models and optimizations to senior business stakeholders and work with product owners to define the execution plan

  • Develop financial models for scenario planning and forecasting

  • Ability to lead complex analytical exercises/projects and which lead to actionable direction within the marketplace

Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for evangelizing the adoption of data driven decisions across Mars Wrigley by leading the development of advanced analytics methods, mining vast amounts of data from data lake (internal/ external data) to provide actionable insights for solving business problems or finding opportunities for profitable growth & efficiency.

  • Lead, manage, and build Advanced analytics capabilities, focusing on Portfolio & Innovation analytics and, bringing in new ideas and solutions to business stakeholders and help create a phased plan of execution

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the business, work with key business stakeholders to understand their challenges and formulate business problems

  • Ideate and build early perspectives on actionable insights to the problem and work with the decision science team to prove/ disprove the hypothesis, continuously iterating as new information and/or insights come to light

  • Help the decision science team with business context and provide necessary feedback during the analysis phase to ensure the outcomes deliver insights that are needed by the business

  • Have a strong understanding of the various statistical techniques, its application and translate the model outcomes into insights/ business terms

  • Leverage the Mars Digital Engine Framework to Find the problem using user centric approach (Design Thinking), Solve it using Advanced Analytics and Machine learning, Automate the solution to scale while delivering in an agile manner

  • Enabling & Refining the operating model for one demand advanced analytics in partnership with global and in market stakeholders

  • Collaborating with functional experts on an ongoing basis to ensure quality delivery for the global digital transformation program

  • Ensure knowledge and best practices sharing across segments and markets to ensure re usability and improving analytical maturity
