Job Description:

The LifeSaver Mints Processing Relief Operator is responsible for operating automated and/or manual manufacturing equipment used to produce Mints following the established manufacturing procedures and prescribed formulas with exactness. The LSM Processing Operator will perform daily relief job requirements to include but not limited to, 5S audits, inventories, cleaning and stocking, and they must communicate with downstream equipment owners to ensure adherence to production schedule.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in LSM Processing

  • Perform daily relief job requirements such as 5S audits, inventories, cleaning and stocking

  • Complete frequent observation of work-in-process and the completion of required recording, such as Quality Control Point sheets

  • Independently operate processing machines and produce a quality Mint product in a team-based environment

  • This position will be required to cross train in various positions in the processing department

  • This position requires the ability to both operate and train others on all processing jobs in the LSM Tower and downstream responsibilities

  • Drive MSE progression through the AM model or Focused Improvement Loss Projects

Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Must be a level 3 in one area of LifeSaver Mints Processing

  • Train the Trainer or Teach, Coach, Assess qualified

  • Basic math skills required to calculate ingredients

  • Pallet jack operation

  • Participate as a team player in accomplishing all company goals and objectives

  • Mixing or related experience preferred

  • High sense of urgency and accountability

  • High Level of demonstrated problem-solving capability

  • Experience in TPM/Lean Manufacturing a plus

  • Experience with MS Office Products and Outlook a plus

  • Supports and understands the business, department and line goals

  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work independently

  • Mechanical Aptitude

  • Must have met time in role (6+ Months)

  • Must have line manager approval to apply

  • Must be in good standing in current role

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical degree or certifications

  • 3+ years of experience operating and maintaining high-speed production machinery in a manufacturing/production environment

  • Strong understanding of all GMP’s, PPE’s and quality checks

  • MSE/Continuous Improvement experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-55 lbs) and pushing/pulling (10-55 lbs)

  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.

  • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (up to twelve hours in one shift).

  • Ability to understand, communicate, read, and write basic work-related English.
